While I haven't watched the video, I live off grid and only have limited cell service to power my iPad, I have to agree with Bosco. It's a phenomon that people on the left just don't understand. For the last three or four decades the left has controlled all discussion politically by enforcing PC rules of conversation. I personally can relate my share of stories where've been threatened to be fired from employment if I said certain things.
Trump was, in my opinion, elected because he refused the PC dictates. The fact that a panel would stand up to established news sources and deny their required PC dictates is completely new and unestablished territory. To people like me, who've had speech chilled in order to work at a job, it is a big deal.
Ninja, Ill be honest...PC speech annoys the living shit out of me. And as I said in a few places, I was hopeful about Trump.
But to be honest, things are an absolute mess here in the US. And no, its not all Trump's fault. He's just doing business as usual in politics. Its been going on for a long time. Longer than him and the last I dont know how many Presidents.
All Im trying to explain to Bosco is that it isnt absolutes. Left leaners arent all like he portrays those of us who are to be. That is all. And Im getting called a "howler" and "an idiot" for saying so.
I think you've neglected a couple of things. For instance the concept of "hate crimes" where actual anti-PC speech can put you in jail. Or, as I've said, I have more than one story where I've been told not to speak or lose my job. I don't find it unreasonable for someone living under that oppression to feel "liberated" under Trump and to fling it back at "perceived" oppressors. Some day let me tell you about the black, female affirmative action officer that walked the corridors of my employ. Some day let me tell you about the only people that really saw how terrible I was used by the PC police were the lesbians in the organization. Some day let me tell you about how I was sent to classes to,learn how terrible I was because I was a white male. Some day let me tell you about how my employ illegally "worked around" hiring qualified people in order to illegally hire unqualified people. Some day let me tell you about how my employ illigally planned to hire unqualified contractors for millions of tax payer dollars in order to be politically correct...and...politically righteous. And on and on for thirty years of professional employ.
And none of our conversation regarding Bosco diminishes what you have said. While I dont know what you have gone through, I can try to imagine. Its tough when you are misunderstood or lumped in with a group.
As I said, Im a white female...and I cant stand PC.
One example. A woman where I worked went to HR and told them that a couple of management positions were about to open and if they didn't hire her for one of them, she'd sue for sexual discrimination. From there she went to upper management and accused me of sexual harassment so my job would open for her to,apply for. I was investigated, it would have ruined my career, I'd have had to move to find a job as my profession was a tight community.
But, as it turns out, one woman went to management on my behalf. When the original woman who complained was confronted with that, she admitted she lied. I complained to upper management about her. Upper management, in order to settle the matter, sent me to two days of sexual harassment training where I was told if I spoke during the two day training I'd be fired. During the two day training I was taught that it was all my fault because I was a white male.
BTW, the senior manager who told me that I couldn't speak or I'd be fired was a very good friend of mine then and to this day. It was a word to the wise because he was aware of what was planned for me because I spoke up and complained about what the woman had done to me. Thereupon, the woman who lied was given a promotion to a made up management position for which she was totally unqualified. And that is how Politically Correct culture is managed.
