That's all it says. Right to bear arms! It doesn't say ANY arms. And it doesn't say you can't put a maximum limit.

People will still be able to bear arms. Just selective ones. I know the fact that there are already some type of weapons that are considered illegal, so this amendment can be worked around to some kind of realistic compromise.

Hunting guns are semi automatic. In Wisconsin 600,000 hunters by a license to hunt deer every November. I am one of them.

That's a big problem. Big Big problem, since semi-automatic can so easily be upgraded to automatic with a cheap bump stock. And what do you guys do? Go into a forest and start spraying multi-bullets whenever you see a deer? I thought real skills is one shot one kill!

It prevents the government from prohibiting the ownership of weapons, and it doesn't give the government the right to limiting the number, that is a restriction on membership.

Yea so I am not suggesting prohibiting of weapons. I am suggesting limiting the range of weapons they could own. It's ALREADY limited base on reasoning that some weapons are too dangerous in civilian arms, just not limited enough.

All that amendment does is guarantee that no matter what, you can have your guns. It really doesn't say any kind of guns.

Cheap???????

Yes the bump stocks that the killer bought only cost 99USD per piece. It cost way more than that just to change the handles of my handbag!

But can you explain why do they need semi-auto to hunt deers? The moment one shot goes out, the deers run fast and will scatter already. Why do you guys need faster reloading?

I here some of the Republican leadership in congress say... This is NOT the time to talk about gun control with the tragedy so fresh.

Will they said that last time...and the time before that....and the time before that... but strangely they forget to ever talk about it.

Butch

They are politicians. They are speaking "Politician". Let me translate.

"God why does the MF left always have to make this a political issue at times like this...as if those political hacks really cared. We're not going to rehash this because if we do someone else will be voted into my seat and I have kids to put through college."

After deer hunting for a little over 40 years now, I can say without question that hunters in WI are not buying that attachment and spraying the woods with bullets. Good grief.

If the first shot misses, you shoot again. It's not that difficult.

No. No comprise. You already see the left compromising rights to obtain power. The 1st Amendment is ridiculed on the left as protecting "Hate Speach" that hurts the ears of poor snowflakes. No compromises on 1st Amendment or 2nd Amendment. Don't even keep asking.

They have to make it an issue because it keeps repeating itself... NOW is the time to talk... not next week or next year... Lets get the proposals on the table one way or the other... then we will know where our politicians stand and can vote accordingly.

I don't agree with restricting Hate Speech. But Hate Speech does not physically hurt anybody.

But gun control and Hate Speech needs to go hand in hand.

Reason is, Hate Speech will incite the bad people into action. The good ones will just shake it off. When the bad ones take action, they will misuse the guns they can have access to. The more powerful guns they have access to, the more mass damage they can cause.

So I think keep the hate speech, but restrict the selection of guns available for public purchase.

This isn't about the "left winning". This is about coming up with a solution to prevent Las Vegas incident from happening again.

This is also why, I want the proposal to come from the NRA and NOT the Left. Because the NRA should be better at finding a happy compromise. That can make things safer yet satisfy gun owners.

The government can't assume it has the power because it isn't specifically mentioned. The people can assume
the government doesn't have the power because it isn't specifically granted.
Besides if you think that there is no excuse for more than 3(or 5) you don't know much about
shooting in general or hunting.

See above in my response to Greta. If you'd like to make a ban proposal in the future, start with the trucks that killed....what...60 in one shot and work down to the frying pan you can read about on Drudge right now that a woman used to kill her husband.

Frankly I don't care what you or anyone else thinks. No compromise.
