You and your dad can punch me all you like, just say something that makes sense, all I'm asking.

I watched my father bury a son. In my opinion, that was the worst thing that ever happened to him.

If I had the kind of grief that went with losing a son, I'd probably not ever get out of bed again. I sure as SH^T wouldn't be appeasing some damn troll on the internet who would think it's all cool to attack a parent who had to bury a child.

You have displayed reticence in going out your own front door, whereas I walk up and down the street, and miles beyond that, all day.

Lest it escaped notice, I never underestimated the efforts of those just trying their best to do their duty.

My own brother was legally blind and got hit by three different cars, but if it wasn't to purpose of oil interests, then fuck him, do I have this right?

Never took him to hospital when he got hit (he vociferously refused on all occasions), only when he was dead already.

Greatest apologizes for my brother only dying in his own room, instead of killing as many as he could along the way.

I didn't post it as a fact, but a possibility. You're the one taking issue with it. I do admit to getting mixed up, having originally read the article hours ago, and hadn't watched the video clip with it. (With no other pictures of the family in the article, I wasn't aware of their race. The play button on the video is directly on the child's head, so no help there either.)

The article honestly made the father's 'criminal career' seem much worse than the video, since people get paroled from prison, and probation from or instead of jail, which is the difference between a felony or a misdemeanor, at least in my State. (The reporter also said parole, though the document shown clearly stated 'violation of probation' as the charge.)

So ok, the transplant team wants to make sure the father is able to stay out of jail for a while, and that likely has more to do with his recovery after the surgery.

See, I have no issue being wrong about people when I think the worst, even if briefly.

I honestly only took issue with you labeling a man a drug addict in need of detox just because he was arrested for weapons charges. Just because someone is in jail...or in jail on a weapons charge...it doesnt automatically mean drugs are involved too. But the way you had it, since he's a criminal type who had a weapon...then that must mean he is also in need of detox. It'd be like someone saying that just because someone was gay [or was carrying a weapon when arrested in the case of the father], assume he's HIV+ too [or a drug addict in the case of the father]. One does not always automatically mean the other. Ill freely admit that it *can* happen in either case, but not always. Im hoping Ive cleared up why I took a bit of umbrage to how you said what you said.

I never mentioned race at all. Truth be told, I only read the article itself. I never watched the video. So dad could be plaid, black, green, or blue like those people in Avatar for all I know. It never even entered my mind to question their race. Truth be told, I never got a racial vibe from what you said either 😊

Look, Ill be totally honest. I think you are a pretty levelheaded intelligent dude and I take interest in a lot of the things you write about on a wide range of topics. That has not changed at all. I just thought you were off base on this subject, but on point most of the rest of the time.

Learn to read the 'in reply to' item, found in the lower right.

That was to bama and his obnoxious horning in on the action, not you.

But while at it, I will re-state;

There are those who die, every day, in 'service' to country, with out ever volunteering for it.

Or, are we to have it that only those who die in uniform are worthy of consideration? No one else having done anything for society anything but being spat upon?

Are you serious?

FR

I got agree with OP that, all these red tape is ridiculous.

His kidney will save his son's life.

This is the type of shit where someone needs to Tweet to Trump to intervene!

I mean, we are all operating out of different countries, but in my country, this dude just needs to take this directly to the Prime Minister's office. The whole country will understand IF any special arrangement needed to make sure he does this kidney transplant on time for his child before going back to serve his sentence again.

I have full confidence that our PM would be alarm by this case and take action! Probably because we are gonna become an extinct species and every new child's life is precious.

This is one of those stupid situations. Like Charlie Gard. Fuckin' government just wanna kill babies.

Lady Pact: if you propose to make this about "my brother" vs. "your brother," then you are welcome to your own, and I understand.

But I will say that those who said repeatedly that "he was so helpful"," he was so nice to everybody" didn't give a shit that my brother never wore a uniform, while battling through a host of mental and physical problems every day that you nor I could ever imagine.

If you want to downplay his and anybody and everybody else's (including healthy people's) contribution to society thereby, then make yourself 'feel good about that' all you want.

No, I'm arguing that if he doesn't give a fuck about his son's welfare (which he clearly doesn't), he has no business expecting anybody else to.
Clear now?

I think as a society and governance. Like I personally would be totally crazy as a government and want parents to jump through hoops before they are approved as fit parents.

From a practical stand still, to lower crime rates and just improve the world in general. It starts with the child, making sure they are born to good loving parents who will care properly for them and be a good example. If we can ensure that, the whole world will naturally become a better and more loving place.

But in regards to children who unfortunately are already in this world and born to unfit parents.

I think the government that I pay taxes to HAS THE RESPONSIBILITY to pick up the mess. And take over the care of the child, to make sure this child grows up to be a positive contributor of society and not a liability in the future. This investment is WORTH IT!

Now if this child survives, he will just grow up to remember the heartlessness of the country's governance that nearly cost his life? And how would that shape his life?

Or does this child grow up grateful and compassionate and eventually pass it on to others as compassion was extended to him when he needed it?

The holistic picture here. What is happening here is not right!

I give you an example of a baby who survived Kidney Transplant and have spend her life now raising money for charity causes.

You have given the best argument, as you always do in every post, what happens when society does not take care of the children well enough.

Next thing you know, we have a mental 15 yr. old teenager as president of the 'most powerful nation,' who actually sounds like a strung-out 15 yr. old boy when he speaks, with an army of mental 15 yr. olds screaming "ja!" all the way.

On some few occasions, you are really spot-on, Gretta.

I absolutely am.

Let a father grieve for his son.

If that interrupts your day, somehow... Well, it's you that needs to adjust.

But, by your account, only a son who died in uniform is deserving of a father's, or any other family member's grief. Thanks for ignoring the rest of my post, from which you selectively excerpted.

You disrespect other's experience by way of claiming yours or your father's to be the end-all be-all of family loss, than gripe when it comes back upon you the same way.

Don't expect me or anyone else to take you seriously anymore.

Pretty sure I'm ok with that.

Bye, Felicia.

That quote was from a crack head movie, right?

How fitting.

Glad/sorry/whatever to see you're taking your father's loss so seriously.

If anybody here can explain to the rest of society why somebody's son or daughter or brother or sister loss is somehow more 'worthy' or more to be 'respected' when such loss occurs in service to oil companies than when such loss occurs after a lifetime of actually doing good things for society, then let us in on it.

All yours.

Taunt away.

But I see you have no answer to my query in any case. Not a surprise.

Nor is it a surprise that no one as yet presents answer as to why non-military deaths are held in lower regard, even if that subject did so many good things for others in his/her lifetime.

Got some stock shares in British Petroleum, do you?

Those who cry about their loss are allowed, only if such occurred wearing a uniform. The rest of those who died serving society in myriad other ways are just losers, so we're not to cry about them, do I have this right?
