Yes, I have heard this before. I mentioned earlier a friend who is married herself, unfulfilled, but doesn't want to leave her marriage. She thinks a married man is "safer" because he has the same need to be discreet and won't demand too much of her time.

From the male point of view, I have met a few single males who have an aversion to marriage, stating that they wish to remain single. They find married women "safer" because they are already married and therefore won't pressure them for marriage, living together, etc. Also, married women have other things occupying their time and won't encroach on their "space" too much.

I happened to sit next to a man at work who held this point of view and was carrying on an affair with a married woman who also worked with us. Not sure if they are still seeing each other, as they both got laid off earlier this year and I don't talk to them anymore. The odds are good that they are, since they both found new employment at the same company.

Again, I personally disagree with all of the above, but they are reasons some people find cheating married men and women attractive because they are married.

There is a difference. It's just not that huge. It's still 'cheating'... in whatever version you hold.

Like I said - just goes to show that one can - yet have no real right to - paint everyone with the same brush.

I am sure some people find something you do abhorant and below their moral standards. Doesn't mean your going to change what you are for them, does it?
