The "lifestyle" is in my life daily... but reality is my main lifestyle...and anything else is what I allow to enter into my "lifestyle".

I think the term "lifestyle" is useful in BDSM because it helps us define our choices. Perhaps lifestyle is too rigid a term for some people. i like it because i am a slave to my Master...always. Whether i'm at work, in a meeting, running kids to music practice, or reading a book, i am His slave. Whether i am serving Him in the moment, or engaged in activities completely unrelated to Him, there is always that thread that keeps me tied to Him as His slave. i may not be acting as a slave throughout most of my day at times, but even in the most vanilla of activities, i am His slave, and i never lose consciousness of that. So, this is a lifestyle to me. For others, BDSM may be an activity they engage in. i think for slaves in general, (forgive me fellow slaves if that is an overgeneralization) it is a lifestyle, because when you've made that committment to a Master, it colors every facet of your life, no matter what you are doing.

Well, yeah, but the thing is that a slave can serve me much better by performing her best in her career, education, family or whatever it is. If it takes her putting me out of her mind for 8 hours a day in order to concentrate on solving complicated problems, so be it. All I ask is that she wear something I give her plus always drink with her left hand. Drinking with the left hand is something that requires thought and will calm her during high tension working lunches where eating is the last thing on everyone’s mind.

However, it is normal when replying to something specific that you make that clear in your post. The original posting I was referring to looked as though it was a reply to me and also addressed issues which I brought up in my post.
