Alright, do you also believe those that delete are fakes?
Once deleted, are they allowed to be open game for the forums to compare notes on the nasty or horribles that do nothing more than assault us verbally, message & then dissapear?

Or is there already a thread that covers this, and where is it ??
coz I've got some horrendous messages to share.. sheesh!!

Ah...then may i suggest that you observe and rethink what you deem to be incompatible, for it tends to get pretty isolating in your own insanity without someone to share it with at times. *grin

I think TOO much, that's the problem.

Ah, you know, like the 1-900-numbers, talk dirty to you for 4.95 a minute - not technically a scam, it's a "service" I suppose, but presumably they string you out, keep you talking or watching for as long as possible - my ex once ran up a $900 phone bill talking to one of those psychic network things, didn't take her long apparently.

why was this thread even allowed? I thought we were not allowed to bash other peoples profiles here.

At $4.50, that's 200 minutes.  3 hours and 20 minutes.

Sorry, but you gotta be borderline retarded to spend that much time on a 1-900 line.  Or just willing to make up a story about it, one or the other.

When women don't respond, it is usually an issue of being contacted by literally hundreds of people who don't meet the criteria specified in their profile. My profile is very specific in that I say I am looking for a single, local, monogamous male between the ages of 30-35, give or take a year or two.

Yet out of probably 300 emails, not ONE matched those criteria.NOT ONE. I got emails from couples, from poly men, from married men, from men in their 40s, 50s, and 60, men in their 20's, a great many men who don't come close to being "local", etc.

I guess I feel that if you're too illiterate to read my criteria, I don't owe you the courtesy of a "no thank you" letter.

The only ones I responded to were the ones who said "I know I don't meet your criteria, but I thought you might like a pen pal."

So if not responding to your email makes you a fake, put me on the list :P

I agree 100 percent! Yes, sometimes I get emails that I just don't bother to respond to, because the people in it obviously didn't read my profile. If they couldn't take the time to read the profile, why should I take the time to write them back? ESPECIALLY when its an obviously cut and paste introduction with NO thought put into it. I was on this site before under a different name, so when I recieve the exact same emails in this profile as I did with my other, I get a little suspicious.

If that makes me fake, put me on that list as well!

Ahh, but see, I do read profiles.  I do write nice emails commenting on something they have in their profiles or mutal interests we have.  Granted, I don't open them with "BOW BEFORE ME BITCH!" because that's not my way.

19 times out of 20, silence in return.  Even a polite "sorry, not interested" takes all of, what, 8 seconds?

So no reply makes someone a fake?

Ok, you took the time to read their profile... in turn maybe they read yours. Maybe they found no interest. Does their lack of interest mean they are fake?

People tend to skim profiles even though they truly believe they read the profile. Personally I get mail all the time where the writer says "I loved your profile & what you have to say..." then they go on with their story & they clearly don't fit in with the criteria I do mention. It's pretty obvious they didn't read my profile. They provide no keyword I have requested & typically they are hundreds of miles away. This does not make me fake... just irritated that I actually took time to write a profile that is basically ignored. Why should I offer a reply when it is obvious that my words are not considered in the first place?

The reasons for not replying have been discussed over & over. Granted it takes about 5 seconds to type NOT INTERESTED & click send... but what seems to happen 19 out of 20 times is... "why are you not interested?" or some type of additional offer of information or insulting come-backs...

You also have to consider that some members on here get a lot of mail. New profiles get tons of mail. If you hit up the new profiles your polite letter will most likely get lost in the mix. This produces a no reply. In no way is this person fake... just overwhelmed.

A fairly valid assessment  - I think I was out of town at the time, and it wasn't all at once, it a several call made over several days, that all showed up on the same bill - they don't keep track of the time for you, it's their job to just keep you on the line.

I was a borderline retard for not having a 1-900 block in the first place, but she still managed to rack up some spectacular long distance bills until I had to get rid of long distance service entirely, and use prepaid phone cards when I needed to make long distance calls.

1-900 block and dropping long distance is SOP now if anybody moves in with me, even temporarily.

How many profiles do you all come across out there that seem to be, well, fake. I see quite a few of them, though nothing like a majority. I just saw this one pop up on the screen http://www.collarme.com/bdsm/v/333089/rzvh/68663/details.htm to pick a random one. This has all the hallmarks of something that doesn't right true:

- Very attractive, young woman in a provactive pose
- Lesbian profile with "NO MEN!" in all caps
- Few if any personal details, likes/dislikes, etc.
- Seeking extreme slavery, "NO RIGHTS..NO safe words" etc

I see a lot of these types, though they are not the only ones. I was just wondering what other people's experienes have been, and if there are any other generic types of profiles that you see a lot that just don't seem right.

I'd say that the odds of the profile being real are about equal to the odds of it being fake.

Responses to your 4 points:

- She's an average looking girl just trying to display her best feature... an above-average figure. If she were strikingly pretty, I would be more skeptical about this particular profile.

- Lots of lesbians exclaim "No men," probably because they've been barraged by past boatloads of male horndogs who either don't read, or choose to ignore what they do read. Nothing unusual here.

- Women do tend to provide more details in their profiles. When a profile tries to attract primarily by it's photo(s), I tend to be more skeptical.

- "No rights/safeword" is a red flag. There's a good chance that the poster is either very inexperienced or a fake.

Insofar as how many profiles I've run across that seem to be fake... well, I'll just say "Most of them." But there's a reason for that. I have my search parameters set within what most people would consider a narrow field... and unfortunately, that's the field in which most fakes prefer to play.

Anyone else notice that while several male posters described the profile pic in question as "very attractive", most of the female posters have been quick to point out that although the girl has a good body, she's rather plain in the face and certainly not what most people would consider "very attractive." If you saw a pic of this girl from the neck up, you probably wouldn't be overly impressed. She's not ugly but she's not "pretty" either in my opinion.

I just think it points out an interesting difference between the male and female perspective...most of our males never even noticed that the girl in question has a rather long, plain looking face.

Great question! I just busted another fake yesterday who promptly deleted "her" profile after reading my message. I'd love to throw this out there.

Yes, well... I'm one observant, visually-oriented SOB, that's one step ahead of the male-pack, ain't I? <straightens posture, sticks out chest, huffs on fingernails, and shines them on his shirt>

And I can smell pretty damn good too... err... I mean with my nose, not yours! Umm... not that I smell bad as in BO or anything like that. Oh hell... you know what I mean... I have a good sense of scent. <resumes poor posture, chest caves back in, shoulders rounded from tripping over his own communication skills>

Kind of reminds me of my friend. He's built completely upside down! His feet smell and his nose runs.

Different strokes for different folks, they say. Maybe I'm prejuidiced because she just isn't my type in a number of ways. I don't like hair color, hair cut, etc. I think her face is too long and drawn. I love her bust but I think she's a bit too skinny as well. I prefer short women with round faces and broad hips. I usually go for blondes also.

The original poster also described her as "young" and to me that implies someone under the age of 25 or so (which is sort of depressing for me, since I'm closing in on 25 quicker than I care to.)

Basically, I just don't see anything special enough about her to imply that the profile is a "fake." Maybe more along the lines of a wannabe, which is not the same thing.

You've got to be kidding. As female forms go, they don't get much better...

Subfever, to me, as far as her form goes, she's got nice boobs but her hips just aren't broad enough. It's not her weight I'm referring to (her weight is fine) , but rather just the shape of her form. For some reason I just am attracted to women with broad hips. This girl has that sort of long, leggy, narrow hipped look that just doesn't do anything for me.

For me, I prefer women who are built like myself. About 5ft3, long blonde hair, Dcups, broad hips, etc just turns me on to no end :) Obviously this girl is nothing like that :P

*psst* don't start talking about 50... I'm still freaking out about 25 , and I don't know what I'll do when 30 comes!
