If you still think the electoral system is adequate and unmolested....I have no sympathy for you.

trannysub007 -> RE: Will You Be Voting in November? (9/16/2006 7:12:24 PM)

In New Jersey, it doesnt matter who gets elected, really. We have a Government that runs on pork. Pork might be good for Emeril's show, but here in the great Garden State, there are elected persons who  hold more than one full-time office, and get paid a HEARTY salary for each of those jobs. They are eligible for pensions and benefits from both positions, also. And the tax-payers foot the bill.
All the candidates claim they will make a difference, but even if they wanted to, the porkers already in office won't let them. They are all essentially the same. Greedy, selfish and already too wealthy to care.
i do vote, but as yet, it has made no difference.  At least in NJ, you can vote for who you want, and not by party, though i don't vote Republican, ever. In my personal experience, 'Republican family man' is synonomous with homophobic, right-wing idiot.

I will, as always, hold my nose and vote for the lesser of two evils.

First of all....we don't live in a "democracy".....we are SUPPOSED to live in a CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC....which we sure-as-hell don't.

I WON'T vote for the evil of two lessers...but I will vote for a Constitution candidate....if one is available.

Well...I sense a revolution.

Prepare for your politics to be torn asunder.

I said so.

That pretty well sums it up.

RepublicanBDSM -> RE: Will You Be Voting in November? (9/16/2006 9:16:39 PM)

Well, I assume they have some aspects of records...but still...in our state, you must choose an entirely Democratic ticket, or an entirely Republican ticket.

Deviations are not allowed.

It's something that's occurred within the last 20 months and I'm still deciding how to respond to it.
[/quote]

The only way to respond:
Either file a law suit(as this is clearly unconstitutional) or start a proposal for next years elections to have this law changed.

no, but i'm sure somehow my vote will be counted anyway. i don't believe the elections are fair...but in fact are rigged anyway.

**edited to add**

i haven't even registered to vote since Perot bailed out.

I just wanted to see how many people will be voting in November...sometimes people that bark the loudest don't even vote.

No (I won't be voting).

My state (Washington) has decided within the last few years that....if you claim to be a Democrat...you must vote the Democrat ticket, and if you deviate, your vote is of no consequence...likewise if you're a registered Republican...if you dare vote for a Democrat (HEATHEN!!!!!), your vote will be canceled.

Hence, why I don't vote.

(Yes, I know it's beyond ridiculous, and yes, I know I could make my voice heard...but I really don't give a shit)

That is only in the primaries,... you can vote anyway you like in November.. I thought you should know that
