I'll be voting.  I always vote and at least on the state, county, and city level your vote does count for something.

I have to agree...

The DIEBOLD electronic ...HACKABLE...voting machines can't be in every State and municipality....YET.

Probably more important to vote in state and local elections...yes.

Keeping bible thumping bigots off your local school boards and city councils for example.

dcnovice -> RE: Will You Be Voting in November? (9/16/2006 9:51:57 PM)

I'll definitely vote, though living in a colony I don't have much to vote for.

cuddleheart50 -> RE: Will You Be Voting in November? (9/16/2006 9:52:13 PM)

Ya know, you just keep gripping and gripping...I am proud to live here and yes there are things wrong with how the government does things...but I would rather live here than anywhere else in the world.  I just cant stand pessimists.

sissifytoserve -> RE: Will You Be Voting in November? (9/16/2006 9:58:02 PM)

Caring about your country is pessimistic?

I don't F***ing think so.

Reminds me of say,,,,

A person on a fast moving train who is the ONLY person on the train that sees the train is about to CRASH
into a mountian because he sees the line has been severed up ahead....he tries to warn everyone...
his hands are beating on the glass looking out the window in horror.... his eyes wide with fright...yet everyone on the train..

calls him crazy and..."there is nothing to worry about"....the train goes around the bend...and SMASH!!!!

cuddleheart50 -> RE: Will You Be Voting in November? (9/16/2006 9:59:57 PM)

So, Your warning us is gonna saves us?

sissifytoserve -> RE: Will You Be Voting in November? (9/16/2006 10:09:46 PM)

No not mine....but one voice will help.

Only untill all of us see the paradigm for what it is and face the full horror of what we are up against.

Untill then..we will be led like sheep to the slaughter.

I admire your passion and compassion Sissifytoserve, but you must become accustomed to being called pessimistic/out of touch with reality by the majority who is all too happy not to deal with the fact that the average folk can hardly afford to live in these united states, and that the wealth/poverty divide is severe and phucked up.    I'm a professional who thinks it's hard to afford everything one needs;  I'm thinking the non professionals are struggling/worrying to death...  In my opinion, even though we are supposedly more wealthy, we are much more miserable, unloving, and unkind to each other, but I haven't done research to prove this. sissifytoserve -> RE: Will You Be Voting in November? (9/16/2006 10:56:04 PM)

No...you are absolutely right.

Most of us are affluent...more than 80% + than the rest of the planet...yet we are miserable. Why is that?

I'm not worried about namecalling. Ive had to deal with that most of my life.

I can sum it all in a nutshell though....

The USA has been hijacked...it has been for years.

Anyone who has the guts or even a passing curiosity why will research the reasons why themselves.

I think a LOT of the reasons humans are so unhappy is because so much GARBAGE has been dumped

into their psychies for so long its very hard to actually have psychic hygene.

You could compare it to say....garbage trucks dumping crap into your conciousness 24/7 untill you become exhausted.

Professionals/non-professionals alike.

Obviously the heirachy of needs come into play...but...I think the majority is unhappy no matter what their economic strata is.

How could it be any other way?

Thanks BlkTallFullfig.

Fast reply

I think some people forget there are local elections that are important too, actually they are very important

How many other places have you lived in?

I mean, I agree with you, but too often Americans retreat to the comfortable "We're the greatest" mentality, and then brush aside the very serious problems facing our nation.

I agree, there are serious problems facing our nation.  I have only lived in the US.  I'm sure other countries have problems as well in one form or another.  There is not one country that is perfect or everyone would be living there.  I just think that it is our responsibility and duty to try and fix OUR problems and not whine and complain about them.  I could be wrong about the whole thing, but thats just the way I feel about it.

Archer -> RE: Will You Be Voting in November? (9/17/2006 5:59:18 AM)

Yes I'll be voting. My district is pretty locked up nationaly but there are going to be referendums in the State, as well as local and state offices where I might have small influence. So I'll scour the ballot for Independants and Libertarians and give the finger to the big two parties the best way I know how.

The only way to respond:
Either file a law suit(as this is clearly unconstitutional) or start a proposal for next years elections to have this law changed.

I've considered that.  It totally sucks.

They changed this about a year and a half ago.

I have researched this and it appears that pick-a-party ballots only apply in primaries... perhaps there is some other information you could point me to? I am really interested in these sorts of things..they are so fluid and they affect all of us, not just people living in your state.

Lordandmaster -> RE: Will You Be Voting in November? (9/17/2006 9:42:47 AM)

The first step in fixing them is identifying them.  If no one can point out problems without being called a whiner, we're not going to fix any problems.

Some people just whine and complain about the problems and do nothing about them, thats what I meant.
