And why is it wrong to use whatever means necessary to break those who we capture? The information we gain from those men save thousands if not millions of lives.
These sick individuals will blame the Government for all the American deaths, and at the same time blast the government for taking measure to save lives.
Do not be angry at these afflicted souls. pity them, and if possible help them, cure them by showing them the light, show them the truth. This disease need not be terminal, it can be cured.

First, I'd like to say the the phrase "RepublicanBDSM" sounds like an oxymoron to me, right up there with "holy war," and "military intelligence."

It is true that there are a lot of ideologues on the left who always blame America first but it is equally true that there are idelogues on the right who's policy seems to be, "never blame America." Idelogue versus idelogue. No good ever comes of this. This country is increasingly divding into two camps who do nothing but scream at each other and never listen to each other. I fear that it is only a matter of time before we are engaged in a second civil war.

As for the people who have been going around protesting at funerals I believe that you are refering to the group known as the Westboro Baptist Church. These people are not liberals. Nor is it fair to lump conservatives in with them. They are their own unique brand of nutcases. Cult would be a more accurate term. I've heard somewhere that eighty percent of the "congregation" are members of the "ministers" extended family. These people are true sadists. Sadists in the most evil sense of the word. It burns me up just to think about what they do. How could anyone with even an ounce of decency go to a funeral and shout vile invective at the grieving family? As for why it is wrong to use any means necessary to extract information? Because we're supposed to be the good guys! You can't seize the moral high ground using immoral means. I'm not against some techniques such as waking the prisoner up in the middle of the night and bombarding them with questions while they're disoriented, or using the good cop/bad cop routine, but there are limits.

Bush- 1 attack

You guys keep trying to rewrite history, and stir up violent division, but some history you ought to be learning are the words of a guy you silly bastards claim as one of your own who said something about fooling all of the people some of the time...

Another thing - people disagreeing with you is not an "epidemic", it's the "American political system", and it was designed to promote opposing viewpoints - another bit of history you might have missed when daddy made that contribution to the alumuni association to keep you from flunking out.

More? The fellow I quoted above was a great man - his party, by contrast, following his assassination, turned out to be arguably the most deeply corrupt in American history, exceeded possibly only by his republican successors who eventually plunged us into the Great depression and dustbowl.

First of all, it happens to be against the terms of service to copy information from the internet without citing your source. Since you're new to Collarme, you might not realize that. But it's worthwhile to know your facts before you lash out at people.

Second, an ordinary person would be GRATEFUL if someone pointed out that the source they were relying on wasn't really the original source. Only someone whose fragile ego has been wounded would spend two pages reminding us, in puerile language, that he doesn't care.

Third, as Crappy has already said, it doesn't matter whether he agrees with me or disagrees with me.

Its a tradegy that the US dont have Brits running their foreign policy - we've "been there and done that" for centuries, filled concentration camps, exploited and colonised all over the world, fought uneven wars for dubious motives and caused untold suffering for our own benefit - something I would define as evil. The result of our imperial policies was distrust and hatred and the end of our empire. (and we were pretty good by the standards of other European powers). We spent the last fifty years repairing our reputation, and then suddenly we find ourselves playing the same games again, but for someone else's benefit. Sadly, assisting in evil does not make this good, and repeating the same mistakes does not make us wise.

All spot on with the exception of the words in bold. The British Government and wider British society are gaining a lot from this. Mainly, the safeguard of US trade in Europe (i.e. ensuring that a large slice of it comes to the UK). Just as the illegal invasion is propping up the lifestyles of Americans the same applies to the British.

I'd like to see evidence of this trade, could you name your sources?

I would also like to know how the invasion is propping up life styles? Don't say oil, on average Britain's oil products are the most expensive in Europe thanks to taxes, which renders pointless going to war for cheap oil only to raise prices through tax.

My guess is that you have made a knee jerk reaction without looking at the evidence.

Spain withdrew its troops from Iraq with everyone speculating that the US would harm their interests. The Spanish prime minister has said that there has been no cost to the withdrawal and the Bush administration said that their relationship with Spain is bigger than a single issue.

My bet is that Britain has got nothing from this war just as Blair says. He also said we are in the Iraq war because it is right to stand by America, which is where I think he loses his marbles. Afghanistan I could agree with, Iraq, never.
