What's your favorite place to eat? And I don't mean "at the kitchen table", you smartasses. Fast food, fancy restaurant?

Well, you said smartasses, so I must reply.  I prefer hole-in-the-wall family-run ethnic restaurants.

What type of food? Any place in particular?

My favorite place is in McKinney, Tx.  It is a family owned and run steak house that is the best and the prices are actually not outrageous.  It's called Steak Kountry.

There's a Vietnamese place - I can't remember the name, but I know where it is!  I learned a love of Thai food when I waitressed for this one lovely lady, though her restaurant is gone now.  I wish someone would open up a restaurant that served homestyle Japanese food.  All those over-priced fusion restaurants make my head hurt.

Inoko's for Japanese is my favorite luxury place to eat.

Outback for a great steak

Shane's Rib Shack for baby back ribs

Schlotzsky's for the best sandwich in the world

Starbucks for the coffee and chocolate swirl coffee cake.

this slave truly perfers not eating out at restaurants or fast food places; but she will answer  for you anyway. IF Master chooses to go out to eat instead of eating in, we most often go to a steak or seafood restaurant; family atmosphere because this slave also has an unmentionable.
This slave absolutly refuses to put any kind of fast food into her mouth ( burger kind, taco bell, mcdonalds, etc ), and thankfully, Master is the same way.

Italian - Jonny Carino's
'Comfort' food - Cracker Barrel
Tex-Mex - Salsalitos
Steaks - Texas Land & Cattle
Seafood - Go somewhere close to or on a shoreline!  Can't beat fresh caught!  A pox on Red Lobster!

For Fast Food:  El Pollo Loco, (twice grilled burrito with fuego salsa)
Carl's Junior/Green Burrito (almost anything on the Green Burrito menu --- chicken burrito very good!!)

For Not So Fast Food:  Sizzler, especially their All You Can Eat Salad Bar.

For Sit-Down:  Norm's and Spires for 'comida gringo' , and El Torito and El Presidente for mexican.  Olive Garden for Italian.

For Seafood:  The Sand Castle, a local restaurant at the beach.  Very wet windows sea-ward when there is a storm!

For Fun:  No place quite like the region of  "The Little Man in the Boat."

If i have to eat and i hate eating my fave place is at home. I struggle big style to eat in front of people so a restaurant is a nightmare for me. Picnics are worse because then i have to contend with eating or sharing my food with bugs too.

Probably My favorite place to eat in Dallas is the Christmas Brunch at the Hotel Intercontinental.  There is a huge variety of food and all of it is very yummy.  I imagine they have brunches every weekend, but I don't think they are as elaborate as the Christmas spread.

I also love Ruby Tuesday's and am thrilled one opened just a few miles from Me.

Another place I like is the Cheesecake Factory.  When I worked in Woodland Hills, CA, there was one right next door to where I worked, and I went there to lunch frequently.  A few have opened in the Dallas area.  Not particularly close to Me, but very well worth the drive.
