Try being a Traditional Conservative and holding Bush accountable for INCREASING a 67 Trillion $ Debt.

It's like these Neocon Party Whores NEVER HEARD of "Fiscal Responsibility" and start the whiny Bush-Apologetics...

It was the reaction among a vocal minority of activist Liberals that pissed me off.  I put up a display at work of a Bill Clinton mask wearing a Pinnochio nose and it got me attacked more than twice.  Apparently, I was only free to speak my mind if they agreed with what I said.

There is a big difference between telling you that you are not allowed to your opinions and telling you they did not like your "display". You are making a political statement, not everyone will like it...

For example, there is a restaurant down the street I loved to go to, but because of their rhetoric that disagreed with my world view strewn upon the walls I decided I did not want to eat there... my freedom of speech not to give them my money... we are all allowed to speak about things we do not like... they did not like your mask... it sounds like you were not appreciative of their speech either

Because it so clearly illustrates the sort of selective moral outrage that stinks of hypocrisy and a lack of any actual belief system beyond "Republicans Baa-ad."

Um...Mark Adam Foley was a former co-chair of the House Caucus on Missing and Exploited Children. I think there's a real difference here.

It is also not hypocrisy to point out hypocrisy in others even if you don't normally care that much about the thing they are being hypocritical about. I don't care if Mark Foley has sex with a 16 year old myself, but yes the statutes go against him on this. And, very interestingly I might add, the man was co-chair of the House Caucus on Missing and Exploited Children. WTF?

I think people understood Clinton was a bit of a womanizing scoundrel. No surprise there. Hey, so was Ben Franklin - literally the father of the country in many cases no doubt. What you don't do in these United States is embarrass your wife before a jury, a courtroom, and the whole goddamn nation about how you can't keep it in your pants - even if she knows and doesn't care herself about it very much, in the states that's a huge motherfucking whopper of a scandal! So if asked under oath, which you shouldn't be because the nation as a whole has no real interest in such matters, you lie. Yes, you lie. I would have. You would have. Everyone concerned for their future political careers would have. You would even go on TV and lie about it to Barbara Walters. Lie like a motherfucker, yes you would!

And it paid off - I give you President and Senator Clinton.

"Playfulone, ah....there was something very illegal about what Clinton did; he lied UNDER OATH about it.
You or I would go to prison for that!
And he was Impeached by the House of Representatives for it.
I don't think it's right for anyone in public office to use their position to take advantage of another person sexually but that's just me."

Where is Torturing Prisoners and holding them without Equal Protection come in on that scale?

On the same not, Bush SWORE TO GOD to "Protect and Defend" the Constitution.

Bush VIOLATED that oath, the First, Fourth, Fourteenth Amendments, as well as 50USC1802 and 50USC1805.

Where's THAT on that scale of Moral Relativism?

It depends on the context Sinergy.  I've referred to President Bush as an "ignorant Texas fuck-stick" on a couple of occasions.  When you call him "Monkeyboy," it announces your attitude towards him and makes it difficult to assign any actual objectivity to what you might have to say.

Is there some significance I'm missing in the moniker?  Is it supposed to reference some incident I'm not aware of?  If it is merely supposed to be funny, you might want to hang on to that day job.

Hello A/all,

I was with a chum of mine a few years ago at his sister's house for a holiday.  His sister and brother in law had made a killing during the Bush years by buying houses, remodelling them, and flipping them.  These were houses in the multi-million dollar range.  Additionally, their mother was there who had bought in to a lot of their market speculation.

All three of these people were rabid Bush supporters.  Talking endlessly about how much money they had made with the dropping of interest rates and the skyrocketting housing market in California.

Fast forward to now.  They have finished remodelling and now have 3 multi-million dollar homes on the market.  They are beautiful houses, but the market is all set to crash.  What amuses me talking to realtors here is they insist it is "levelling off."  Looked at from one perspective, I suppose this is correct.  Housing prices have not dropped appreciably.

What has dropped are the number of people buying houses.  So instead of things being on the market for 2 weeks as it was 3 years ago, we now have houses sitting on the market for over a year with no potential sale in sight.

Eventually, people will start dropping their prices and the market will stabilize way back down.  This is known as a market crash.

Happily, I am already pre-qualified for a large home loan when it does...

I feel sorry for the guy and all, but you know, business is business... Hope he don't get TOO FAR back in taxes, tho...

That's why they call it GAMBLING...

Is "OATHBREAKER" better? It's perfectly accurate, when you consider the Torture, Secret Prisons, and Domestic Surveillance of all Internet and Phone traffic.

Man, the commies would have LOVED this tech.

I want a little beach pad for about $200k that I can hose off my surfboard and wetsuit in the back yard.

That and a $700 / month mortgage.   Then I can work really hard down in the harbor about 3 days a week and goof off the rest of the time.

Just me, could be wrong, but there you go.

Hello WyrdRich,

The good thing is that I am more than happy to provide source and reference material if one asks for it.

Couple that with the fact that if people have a hard time reading what I write because I use colorful language, sobriquets, feeble attempts at humor, and occaisional oblique references, I am not sure what to suggest to help them overcome their issues.

Just me, could be wrong, but there you go.

$700 bucks is a good target.

We're in a 2 family, with a sub-800 mortgage, and tenents paying just over 800 bucks.

It's pretty cool to live here for taxes, and utilities. Now, I *could* use a driveway...

It'll come, when the effects of the tanking market hit. I hear the real estate crunch is one reason the oil retailers are clearing out inventory.

Wonder how many properties them trophy-wives are stuck with right now? People treat that shit like a game. And it is... IF YOU CAN AFFORD TO LOSE!

It's almost sad how few people in this country know about history and the facts. Mark Foley is not the first congressman to do this. He's not even the 2nd.

In 1973, Democrat representative Gerry Studds from Massachusettes had a sexual relationship with a 17 year old male page. In 1980, Dan Crane, a Republican represenative from Illinois had a sexual relationship with a 17 year old female page.

In 1983, the house ethics committee censured the two congressmen. Mr. Crane gave a tear-filled apology on the House floor. He lost the election in 1984 in his heavily conservative district.
Mr. Studds however not only refused to apologize, but was relected in 1984 by a heavy liberal district in Massachusettes. Not only that, but he was re-elected each time up until he retired in 1996.

So if any of you are expecting the corruption to be any better with the Congress under control of Democrats....you got a surprise coming. All the negative politics, insults, scandals, and name-calling over the past few decades has chased all the good people out of politics. There are no leaders in D.C. anymore. Who in their right mind wants to work in that kind of environment? So now we are left with the criminal and the corrupt.

Did anybody else read in the paper today that (our friends and allies) the Saudis announced that they are cutting back production of crude oil again.

Apparently, they believe that the falling gas prices in the United States are cutting in to their profit margin.

Ever read Mike Royko, Sinergy?  He granted absolution to the verbal 'mis-understanderings' of Chicago's Mayor Daley (the first one) by saying, "he said it, we understood it, what more can you ask of a language?"  If your audience doesn't understand what you are trying to express, no matter how many times or slowly they read it, who's the monkey?

No, but the Torture, Secret Prisons and TOTAL Domestic Surveillance are ALL Bush's responsibility, so anyone he touches is tainted and gotta go.

This is about FREEDOM and LIBERTY. Not who is shitting-where-they-eat. ( or fucking-where-they-work, same principle ).

Foley just had the Bad Luck to be tossed out of the lifeboat to deflect the REAL criticism.

Lies, Torture, Shitting on the Constitution, and Dead People.

I understood what he was trying to express... when we first started talking we would laugh at monkeyboy,... although I am used to hearing him referred to as a chimpfaced bastard in my circles.. I think it is an insult to primates to compare them to Bush.. but hey.. that is only my opinion
