Knowing that the current state of affairs in our great nation has many of you civilians up in arms and excited about joining the military. For those of you who can't join, you can still lend a hand. Here are just a few of the areas where we would like your assistance:

1. The next time you see an adult talking (or wearing a hat) during the playing of the National Anthem---kick their ass.

2. When you witness, firsthand, someone burning the American Flag in protest---kick their ass.

3. Regardless of the rank they held while they served, pay the highest amount of respect to all veterans. If you see anyone doing otherwise, quietly pull them aside and explain how these veterans fought for the very freedom they bask in every second. Enlighten them on the many sacrifices these veterans made to make this Nation great. Then hold
them down while a disabled veteran kicks their ass.

4. (GUYS) If you were never in the military, DO NOT pretend that you were. Wearing battle dress uniforms (BDUs) or Jungle Fatigues, telling others that you used to be "Special Forces," and collecting GI Joe memorabilia, might have been okay when you were seven years old. Now, it will only make you look stupid and get your ass kicked.

5. Next time you come across an Air Force member, do not ask them, "Do you fly a jet?" Not everyone in the Air Force is a pilot. Such ignorance deserves an ass-kicking (children are exempt).

6. If you witness someone calling the US Coast Guard 'non-military', inform them of their mistake---and kick their ass.

7. Next time Old Glory (the US flag) prances by during a parade, get on your damn feet and pay homage to her by placing your hand over your heart. Quietly thank the military member or veteran lucky enough to be carrying her---of course, failure to do either of those could earn you a severe ass-kicking.

8. Don't try to discuss politics with a military member or a veteran. We are Americans, and we all bleed the same, regardless of our party affiliation. The President (for those who didn't know) is our CinC regardless of political party. We have no inside track on what happens inside those big important buildings where all those representatives meet All we know is that when those civilian representatives screw up the situation, they call upon the military to go straighten it out. If you keep asking us the same stupid questions repeatedly, you will get your ass kicked!

9. 'Your mama wears combat boots' never made sense to me---stop saying it! If she did, she would most likely be a vet and therefore, could kick your ass!

10. Crystal balls are not standard issue in the military. That reminds me---if you see anyone calling those damn psychic phone numbers, let me know, so I can go kick their ass!

11. 'Flyboy' (Air Force), 'Jarhead' (Marines), 'Grunt' (Army), 'Squid' (Navy), 'Puddle Jumpers' (Coast Guard), etc., are terms of endearment we use describing each other. Unless you are a service member or vet, you have not earned the right to use them. That could get your ass kicked.

12. Last, but not least, whether or not you become a member of the military, support our troops and their families. Every Thanksgiving and religious holiday that you enjoy with family and friends, please remember that there are literally thousands of soldiers, sailors, marines and airmen far from home wishing they could be with their families. Thank God for our military and the sacrifices they make every day. Without them, our country would get it's ass kicked."

I will add one more:

If you ever see anyone either standing for or singing the national anthem in Spanish - KICK THEIR ASS!

Unless you are an animal, this really fucks with your head. In a way they give up part of their innocence, try to recover that.

They give up alot psychologically that we never hear about. They give a piece of their soul so others can live.

I'll tell you what, and of this I have no doubt, I have alot more respect for soldiers than those who fling them to the corners of the Earth to get richer. Alot more.

The people who used to shout baby killer need their ass kicked, not really for shouting that, but for doing it in the wrong place. They should've shouted it at the politicians. All they did was hurt these guys when they probably already had alot to deal with. What did that gain them ?

I am totally against all of this, Korea was stupid, Nam was stupid, we accomplished nothing. But to take it out on the soldiers was wrong, very wrong. We need to address just who is giving the orders, and the stank starts at the top.

Soldiers who manage to get their ass back stateside can expect any assistance I can render. I hate giving/loaning out money, but this can take the form of a ride, a good meal or even a few beers. Whatever at the time

In their minds they do it for us, and some give all. How can anyone disrespect them ? They believe that they do this for We The People.

Another thing before I split, soldiers give a hell of alot more than a pro athlete, and make how much ?

Hell, I'm gonna go out and thank those guys who tortured Iraqis in Abu Ghraib. Good on you, guys & girls!

A few points about this:

Like it or not, people can do whatever the hell they want. I do sincerely hope that the guy who decides to kick someone's ass over not saluting or whatever gets his ass kicked, be he veteran or not. And if he's a disabled veteran, even less reason to decide to get aggressive. Yer kinda an easy mark.....

Like it or not, America would not be America without corrupt banks abusing the third world, Oriental slave labour, and pollution defending our right to freedom. So I think I'll salute every time I pass a bank, and anyone who does not, I will have killed. (It's much more efficient, and people learn faster)

Like it or not, soldiers get paid. Unless you were drafted, you had a choice about going to war. Do I ask to be respected above and beyond others for getting people drunk? No. I get paid to do a job. Some jobs are risky, and therefore more lucrative, some entail less risk, so are less lucrative (assuming similar pre-training skills)

Like it or not, you kinda make yourself look foolish when you copy and paste an e-mail, forgetting that you're not a veteran. Doesn't that kinda go against rule 4: Pretending to be in the military?

Just think, if I copied every e-mail I got onto these forums, we'd all be buying shitty viagra by now.....

Just more bilious rhetoric from the ''You haven't been there done that '' element of society who believe veterans have a better understanding of geo-political/military situation over the last six years.

As someone who did serve four years in the military, had I known then what I know now, you would have had to take me to jail before I would have agreed to serve the masters.

It's words like these that made me start carrying around a copy of my DD214 while I was protesting.

Because it was a damned sure thing the loudest jackass repugnican who would get in my face calling me a "traitor" NEVER served.

Amazing how fast they shut up when I would pull out my veteran's healthcard with the words "Service Connected" and make them read the area around my awards and decorations.

I've got more to say about this. But I am going to let my blood cool down a bit before I do so.

I know someone who fought with the 1st Marine Division in WWII and was a drill instructor after the war. He never talks about kicking peoples asses.

Yea benji, we got paid alright. My father retired from the Air Force after 20 years. My mother worked the whole time we were growing up because the pay he got as a non-com wasn't enough to live on. I joined the Air Force myself and married a man who was also in the Air Force. I got out before he did. At the rank of seargent and me at home with one child, he made FIFTY FRIGGIN DOLLARS too much each month for us to get food stamps! All the while the big shots in the Whitehouse already had us doing practice drills for deployment in the Mideast. ( I was still active duty at that point ) Seems to me that's a pretty risky job. I don't know of one single person who joined simply because it was a job where they got paid.

You'll have to "settle" for Dirty Bastard (scotch ale) though. That was my last Stout until I get back to Grand Rapids. Haven't found a local place that sells the bourbon stout or the breakfast stout (double chocolate double coffee oatmeal stout ... black as liquid evil)
