There's a lot to this, but I'm convinced that attitude and work ethic have a lot to do with it too. You have to work harder to be a successful pro, and not every athlete can handle the pressure. For example, I wasn't so sure that Peyton Manning was going to be all that he was cracked up to be coming out of Tennessee--well, I was shall-we-say incorrect about that, and I'm convinced that part of the reason for his success has been his attitude/work ethic. Couch and Dayne weren't total busts, but the attitudes on Leaf, Akili Smith, and Mandarich were legendary. quote:
