No, sometimes it's just about the guy being a huge handsome pile of beef. You play horsey with him for an hour or two, send him on his way, and have a laugh about it with your friends. You don't care who he is, how he feels, what he thinks, or where he's going to be tomorrow. Or at least, that's how I regarded the one professional athlete I dated, years ago.
Shallow sexual interaction tends to work this way, in my experience. When you're only going to deal with the first half-an-inch of someone's body surface, with no regard to the interior, you want that first half-an-inch to be as appealing as possible. He/she could be Einstein or Mozart--you don't care. You're never going to touch that person's spirit. You just wanna bat their meat parts around for a while.
The rest of the person comes into play when you ARE looking for something deeper. I am more than willing to rest my eyes on the prettiest man in the room, if no one is talking. However, the minute some other man opens his mouth and says something particularly intelligent or interesting--my interest in the pretty boy evaporates pretty much instantly.
