My view is pretty simple.  Kambon is a racist asshole.  But you're trying to argue that because the outcry against what he said wasn't as great as the outcry against what Richards said, there's some kind of horrible anti-white imbalance in American public opinion.  That's absurd.  The outcry against Kambon was significant; the fact that YOU happened not to have heard about it until you saw it on YouTube is--how shall I put this--totally fucking irrelevant, no?

NCSU stated that Kambon was no longer affiliated with them in response to inquiries after his speech at Howard University.  I'll take that as a statement that they canned his ass.

I'm still not understanding your view here.

You guaging that it was significant in your opinion is how shall we say it. Is as fucking irrelevant as my perception in your view.

But I guess, I do think and see no evidence to the contrary, that when a white person spews racism it's everywhere, when a black person does, it may be reported but not so much.

They are both racists to me, only one is condoning murder, and in my view of the world a professor spewing hate speech, is a much much bigger issue than a washed up hack of a comedian. Kramer, LOL.

Lordandmaster -> RE: Kramer goes ballistic (12/2/2006 11:35:26 AM)

OK, now I have to ask YOU: what's YOUR point?  No one is arguing that Kambon is anything less than a racist.  You still seem to think that no one in America cares about the issue just because you hadn't heard anything about it before you saw the clip on YouTube...but really, what more is there to say?  If it pleases you to go on believing that there's some kind of horrible anti-white bias in American public opinion (which is what you SEEM to be saying--because otherwise you're not saying anything at all), go on, have fun with that.

Well, it's not really able to be resolved because you contend that the Kambon incident was widely covered, and that the michael richards thing is equivalent in coverage.

I say a racist professor spewing genocide and who was in charge of teaching supposed fact(at the time) is a much bigger issue/story than Kramer saying nigger. People generally take professors thoughts and ideas more seriously than washed up actors. If that is the case, then the Kramer thing is over blown or the Kambon thing is underreported.

So, since we disagree on coverage of the event and it appears on the significance of those involved, then there is no coming to agreement.

To me a professor has alot more chance of causing real change in the way his students think, than an actor. So, it's a much bigger occurence in the way I look at things.

Lordandmaster -> RE: Kramer goes ballistic (12/2/2006 12:50:03 PM)

That's debatable, because not many students ever studied with Kambon, and millions of people know Richards from Seinfeld.  But I fail to see the value in trying to decide which is "worse."  They're both bad.  Kambon's a racist, and that fact doesn't make what Richards said any less atrocious.  It's like those asinine arguments about whether Stalin was worse than Hitler--and people who try to argue that one is somehow less bad than the other are always trying to make some kind of creepy ideological point.

Also, you're still clinging to the "it couldn't have been a big deal because I never heard about it" line, and you don't seem to grasp what's wrong with that approach to the world.  Maybe there are a few important things in this world that you never heard about?  Just maybe?

Ask unsophisticated Asians what they think of blacks. Anonymously if possible.. You Liberals might be in for a surprise.

There are some very sophisticated Asian acquaintances of mine who cannot even bring themselves to admit that their friend (me) is with a black man after being married to one of "their men."

*sighs...  just my experience, not a generalization or a judgment...  I still value my friends, (all of them - whatever their race, gender, political, economic situation, etc.), even when they don't seem to make much sense...  doesn't mean I won't have a good debate with them over the matter though*

Anyway, my server computer crashed multiple times because of these power failures around here, and I have to reformat the thing, well continue reinstalling things and configuring it. I have to get it going because we can't do anything around here without, basicly out of business until I get it up.

So, you're right, to cut it short. LOL. Real world invading on theory land.

LotusSong -> RE: Kramer goes ballistic (12/4/2006 8:10:04 PM)

I heard a this statement- but I can't remember where:

"I can't wait until we all blend into one race. That way I can hate people for the content of their character".

VeryMercurial -> RE: Kramer goes ballistic (12/9/2006 6:46:58 AM)
