I tend to agree with this definition... as does my Master. When He collared me, I agreed to give up certain privileges, like defining limits and such. He knows that there are a couple of things (outside the usual scat, animals, etc.) that bring me to a bad place, and in knowing that, He doesn't go there because the end result is damage to me emotionally, and really... who wants damaged goods? The rest is of course, at His discretion and desire.

*nod* This is the defination I tend to go with. Generally I think that a slave retains two rights for sure: The right to choose her master and the right to leave if he is not treating her well as property. Other then that, it depends on how much control the master wants over her.

OY - here we go again. What is a human compared with a person. It's all a very individual and deeply personal thing - i believe a slave is anyone who thinks of themself as a slave, the next step may be finding a Dominant who agrees. To define a slave, a submissive, a Dominant is as complex a thing as defining what is an individual. i've found definitions only provide illusions by which to compare yourself or another to. i don't mean this in the least bit sarcastically, it's just that this is what rings true in my experience.

I'm just sick that I can't think of any clever musical/theatrical references to toss into the discussion. Sigh. Oh, well... I can add a thought or two from the standpoint of consensual slavery.

When Master first interviewed me he indicated that he was looking for a slave. I've known that I was submissive since early childhood, but it still took some serious consideration (and directed reading to ensure we were both talking about the same concept) before I accepted his collar.
I'm a service as well as a sexual slave and he defined both roles clearly. They're not set in stone, of course, because like all relationships, ours is organic. He's also sensitive to my needs and does check with me before making some decisions. Those decisions, though, are his. When we're out in public I don't wear my collar, but it's still there. We don't share our lifestyle with many people since this is a small town and I still work in the community, but I'm secure in my place in the world.
As far as the difference between slavery and submission in this home, it's pretty simple. A submissive could negotiate the details and I don't. She might be able to “opt out” of some things and I can't. More clearly put, I choose not to. I made my choice when I accepted this collar and it's my hope to wear it for the rest of my life.
We now return you to your regularly scheduled (and clever) playlist...

A slave to me is one that gives up total control to her Master, has no more safewords because her Master knows her body and mind so well, that including her limits. She never says no, and will do anything for her Master. a slave to me is not an instant position, it comes with time, it develops. She also feels like a slave because she knows herself that whatever is asked of her to do, there is this power in her that doesnt allow her to say no, that whatever He requires, she must do it. If she fails to do it, she feels less of a slave, she has failed.

Stands with the tim the tool man fire hose at the ready!..LOL But no I made it abundantly clear twice that it was My opinion and by that I mean it is from My experience. Referring to the slaves Ive met both online and off over time, and certainly not just in this small colony known as CM. Thats My view an Im stickin to it, if someone dont like it, oh well.
