I guess what we're saying here is peoples expectations and desires change as they go through life. What we wanted at 20 is not neccesarily what we want at 40.

Maybe we should have marriage contracts that expire after say five or ten years. That way we might spend more time working on ourselves and our relationhips. Couldnt hurt. Both sides could negociate.

Americans or maybe western culture wastes a lot of time and emotion trying to get the other sex to become just like them. Men and women are different. A wealthy man will almost always pick the playboy model looking secretary over a lawyer who is older and not as good looking. A woman will almost always pick the lawyer who is balding and overweight over the factory employee who looks like George Clooney.

I'd take the factory worker any day over an older balding attorney. Couldn't imagine being with someone who didn't have all his hair and front teeth. Attraction is more important to me. I don't care if a man makes $15/hr as long as he has a job and his own transportation. Even if I hooked up with a young attorney or doctor who was willing to support me, I would still want to have a job. Otherwise, I'd feel like a bum. Then there would be the hassle of asking for money any time I wanted to buy something. No thanks, I'd rather work. As for who made more money, that wouldn't really matter to me.

Isn't the point to marry money and fuck for pleasure? I've had several liasons with married women in affluent marriages. I can recommend it for sex without conditions. I have all my hair and all my own teeth and in reasonably good condition for my age and wearing well and live and work where I meet such women. I just wish I realised such pleasures when I was young and romantic and before I got married and thought a special woman in my life would enrich it.

You know Meat, I have no desire to Marry Money.  (then again I'm not looking for a contract of any kind)  My Submission can not be bought, but it sure can be taken when the right mind set is applied...... he heee.  That mind set has nothing to do with how many digits are in a net worth.

I resent that fact that women want you for yourself at first and when they have got you, they then want you to change and live to their idea of a life style. Then they complain you aren't doing anything or you aren't performing to their expectations. Well they should be fucking grateful you made so many compromises in the first fucking place! Oh, I forgot, they let you have sex. Well thanks but sex isn't that good that you have to spend the rest of your life paying for it!!!
Good thing you're not bitter babe, LOL.  You do realize that there are plenty of women who say this exact same thing about men right?    This mating/commitment thing is definitely not for the faint of heart.   M

I'm not bitter. I just like to remember so I don't make the same mistake again.

Yes Meacleaver is as smart as they make 'em, but a romantic he is not!   He's a lot like the hot blonde stereotype= very shaggable, until he speaks killing any sweet thoughts she might have had about him beforehand.
I'm kidding MC, yah know I love you like a brother (albeit one who needs to be hit over the head frequently, and told you can't say that).   M

I think it really just depends on the situation and lets face it, when we are unhappy with someone we are going to LOOK for something to get angry about.  I was angry when I was with my exhusband because I worked multiple jobs while going to college and taking care of an infant BUT when we weren't together and I did the same things I didn't mind at all.  Then when I was in another relationship where I was the sole source of income I also didn't care at all about it and was proud to be of use. I was just bitter and annoyed with my exhusband for things that had nothing to do with our financial situation but at the time it was something to bitch about :/

I agree with you there.  It is an institution that is more myth than reality.  If it works for you, great!  Otherwise, get a divorce like everyone else.

Any relationship takes work and shared effort.  Focusing solely on income diminshes the whole.
