Thanks for the information, NorthernGent. I love all of theose bands.

It won't be possible to head over this month for the Jam tribute show, but we are hoping to attend the Glastonbury Festival next year.

Now I'm trying to think of the concerts I have seen ... haven't been to one in a while.

Iron Maiden, Grateful Dead (several Times), Stevie Ray Vaughan (multiple times), Les Paul, Boston, Jethro Tull, Fleetwood Mac, Indigo Girls, The Who, Phish, BTO, Grand Funk Railroad, The Guess Who, Little Feat, George Thorogood, Steely Dan, Yes, The Allman Brothers, Greg Allman, Joe Satriani, Johnny Winter, They Might Be Giants, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, CSN&Y, Pink Floyd, and who knows how many small local bands.

My first concert was Black Sabbath and a band that nobody had ever heard of because it was their 1st tour. Van Halen. I've seen KISS at least 50+times the later being 2 shows in Cali this summer o6...i'm old Damn it!!

I was going to guess you're pretty young as I saw that tour myself just a couple of years ago. At our show Billy Squier played so long as the warmup we only got to see Bad Company do about six songs, literally, which was a shame as they have a number of hits and were sounding quite good.

I saw that concert also. Bad Company was the best of the three.

My first outdoor concert was the Southern Roundup In Philly at the old J.F.K. Stadium. It was a all day deal with The Allman Bros. 38 Special, Molly Hatchet, The Outlaws, Marhall Tucker and the Rossington Collins Band it was in the early 80s and these bands were still have young and rocking hard.

My first concert was actually this year when Master and I went to see Roger Waters (Pink Floyd) in Montreal. It was a wonderful experience and so exciting........

My first concert -- Jefferson Airplane, back in '69 or so. I really don't remember anything about it, which is kinda funy because that was even before I found drugs.

My first real concert was "Cream" in Lowell, Mass in 1968.
Eric Clapton, Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker comprised Cream.
I saw a lot in Boston, Jimi Hendrix at "the Gah-den".
Johnny Winters opened for Jimi Hendrix and while he was playing a big fight broke out between the Hell's Angels and another Motorcycle group and the lights and the music went on!
Dozens of Boston Police poured in and all you could see were billy clubs swinging.

My first was sometime in the mid 70s, I don't remember the year.

Opening act was a group called Pipers that I hadn't heard before nor since.
Second act was Rush
Headliner was Blue Oyster Cult.

The thing I remember most was BOCs light show.

I saw that concert! Late 70s, early 80s, right? I believe I saw it in Gulf Port, Miss. (although it's a little fuzzy about the location). GREAT concert. It was Van Halen's first album.

Two years ago I saw A Perfect Circle and they were GREAT. VERY good concert, one of the best. This year I got to see NIN and I was stunned at how good the show was. Stunned.

Recently I went to the family values tour and for the most part was disappointed in the quality of the sound in general, but even given that I enjoyed Stone Sour and Korn. Also went to an arena to see Stone Sour and Disturbed recently. The sound sucked and I won't be seeing any more concerts in freakin' hockey rinks.

I was just sitting here wondering if I could name all the bands I've seen and I'm not sure I can.

Blue Oyster Cult, Rush, Van Halen, Black Sabbath, Santana, AC/DC, Joe Walsh, Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Nicks (sucky concert), Styx, Kansas, Ozzy, Foreigner, Louisiana's LaRoux (SUCKS), John Cougar Mellencamp (when he was still John Cougar), David Bowie (WONDERFUL concert), Three Dog Night, Allman Brothers, BB King, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Special EFX, Spyro Gyra, Doobie Brothers, Nine Inch Nails, Korn, Ted Nugent, Bad Company, Deborah Coleman (really good blues show and personal friend), The NY Symphony Orchestra, Blues Traveler, George Thoroughgood, Robin Trower, Stone Sour, Flyleaf, Def Tones, Mini Kiss (opened for APC), A Perfect Circle, Non Point, ...

Nope, I can't remember them all.

This is a GREAT thread!

Edit: OH! I just remembered a few more - Jethro Tull, Buddy Guy, The Black Crowes, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Foghat, 10 Years, ZZ Top, Grand Funk Railroad, Journey, Yes, Brownsville Station, ...
good lord what was the name of that guy with the crazy long blond hair in the 70s? Not Winters - hmmmmm.

Still can't think of them all. I wonder how many times I can edit this post???

Bands I wish I'd seen:

Led Zep
Jimi Hendrix (I was toooo young and he'd died before we got back from Europe)
Janis Joplin (same situation as Hendrix)
Aerosmith
Tool

I could go on and on.

Second edit: A Puddle of Mudd opened for Korn at Madison Square Garden. They were ok.

Third edit: Garbage in a small venue in Manhattan. GOOD show!

Fourth edit: REO Speedwagon (gag)

First Concert was Def Lepard in 88 or 89. I had seen bands in bars and what not but that was My first big venue.

If I had the cheese for the Athens trip, we'd do it . Sadly, I can't even get to Athens Georgia at the moment lol.

Mastadon is a very good band, and Tool, they are badasses in my book. Hoobastank, while not bad, are not a big favorite.

The Winter brothers are locals (as was Joplin), and do a good show. I'd love to see Cream, and I think they may do another American tour.

Both Trent Reznor and Maynard Keenan did a fair amount of work in the studio with each other, the band was to be known as Tapeworm. Sadly, both men have basically shitcanned all of that, but one song made it out, I think; "Passive", on the A Perfect Circle album eMOTIVe, was originally a Tapeworm track called "Vacant".
