Batter with argument NG, surely you can see that ? The reason your posts catch my eye is that you project everything that I think has gone wrong in the UK. Your views reveal someone with an historical perspective and knowledge but when you comment on current affairs and the social problems that face the the UK you simply parrot the PC Liberal viewpoint that even as we speak is beginning to unravel and fall apart at the seams. However as of now I shall just have to read and nash my teeth since you appear to be a sensitive soul at heart.

Two big issues here: 1) 'PC Liberal viewpoint' doesn't mean anything to me. It's a vague term with no real meaning. Any post with such a term lacks credibility - it's meaningless rhetoric. Plus, I'm not a Liberal in the classic sense of Liberalism. Genuinely, you could do with thinking about what you actually mean when you use such phrases. 2) My politics is not reflected in the people who have ran this country for the last 30 years so your claim in bold lacks weight i.e. if you believe so much has gone wrong then the buck stops at the government and I am neither a conservative nor new labour.

Just to clarify, to the world at large of course, one aspect of PC Liberal thinking is to refuse to admit that something that they hold to be true and operating in a positive way, is in fact false and is operating with negative consequences. One poster here for example has consistanly claimed that multi culturalism is a success and that in particular there exist no problems in Manchester. In fact Moss Side is notorious for gun crime and social and cultural division. As are areas of B'ham London and everywhere large numbers of "recent" immigrants live in de facto segregation. I heard that is the reason that Beckham decided to leave Manchester. He's in for a shock if he strays in to the wrong area of Los Angeles !

Please pull the other one, I know for a fact I was financially better of with 3 small things and no job than I am now as a senior professional and single. Crunch the numbers yourself, pretend you have a partner and a sprog or two, see how much better of you would be (odds on you will be getting more back from the state than you would be putting in by way of direct taxation) I say the problem is over-investment, by making the welfare system so easy to abuse and by offering so much with it there is little incentive to actually do much at all. And to finish off, its called racial tension (by your own admission) not socio-economic tension, surely the label alone proves the point? After all you cannot have racial tension between members of one race (yes it can be sub-divided ad-infinitum, but however you do it the label is still racial) edited because my sellping was carp!

In the city where I live, where incidently Beckham was not born, There are two areas where the population is predominantly shall we say err.....a lesser shade of pale. Every 5 years or so the local council decides to implement ANOTHER investment initiative to improve the areas, help the socio economically deprived and give them another push to improve their lot. Over the years we are talking millions. Nothing much changes !! Actually just realised I am wrong, there was a riot in one area and it got reported on the local TV news. There's progress for you !! As Sleazy has pointed out, investment most certainly is not lacking.
