I used to post here quite a bit.  Then I got bored.  Now I pop in from time to time.   I simply have a difficult time maintaining an interest in discussing the same topics over and over week after week, month after month and year after year.  That being said, some of the more interesting and intelligent discussions can be found on this forum.

best regards,
fate (waving to all of those old souls who actually remember who I am...hehe)

~Fast Reply~

I think a lot of it is that people just don't know about this side. I was a member of collarme for two years (under this and another name) before I discovered the fun of the forums. Of course, now I am quite possibly addicted. (I can quit any time!) It took one of my friends saying how she posted on here occaisionally to get me interested in it. Before then I just thought it was some sort of advanced bulletin board with personals and events and stuff.

hmmm .... it took me awhile to post because I am shy ... and mainly b/c i hate it when people don't agree with me ... my stubborn side shines through.

I'm sorry I just have to disagree with you here.

Why are you going to ruin my friday night like that? *pouts*

Wulfchyld -> RE: Those who do not post (2/2/2007 8:45:18 PM)

I disagree. I think it made your fridaynight.

tade -> RE: Those who do not post (2/2/2007 9:11:38 PM)

I usually only post when I have something to say on a given topic that I don't see already there. Not usually one for the "Me to" Posts that I see so much of. That and the Random Polls and Stupidity section. Have yet to get in one argument or hear any name calling way down there.

MistressDiane -> RE: Those who do not post (2/2/2007 9:16:37 PM)

Some people just don't get into Forums *shrugs*

I can understand not posting photos, but some of the conversations, which take place here, the questions or information which is exchanged  must be of interest if kink enough a part of your life to post a profile. No?

I disagree that having kink as a significant enough interest to post a profile means that you also have an interest in forums.
Although I don't really have any sort of leg to stand on as I originally created my profile specifically so that I could post to the forums ~ and not as a 'guest' or 'anonymous'.
I found this site through a comment on LJ when I was searching for information. As I still am, which is why I still read the forums. :)
As a slightly different answer, I post somewhat rarely because I don't see the need to echo 'Me, too'. Much of the discussions are beyond my personal experiences and some of the discussions are terms/dynamics/definitions that I am still wrestling with so I tend to open my eyes rather than my mouth.
Cheers,
Cat

ElectraGlide -> RE: Those who do not post (2/3/2007 11:28:17 AM)

I asked a Collarme user the other day, why have they been on here so long and never posted in the forums. She said she post elsewhere. She liked some Yahoo Sub forums. It made me think that I only post on this site and nowhere else.

wandersalone -> RE: Those who do not post (2/4/2007 2:50:42 AM)

For myself I did not realise that the forums existed until I had been a member on the other side for months and I have a feeling that there are many others who do not post here because they have never clicked on the 'messageboard' button.  The irony of your question being that chances are we will never know the answer as the people who do not post wont reply!

Celeste43 -> RE: Those who do not post (2/4/2007 7:14:43 AM)

The other thing is that posting is more attractive to people who feel comfortable using words in a written medium. People with poor spelling and grammar skills are going to make mistakes in writing that affect the comprehension of their posts. They'll get chastised for that from those of us who simply cannot figure out what they are saying and be afraid to post again. And if they are already uncomfortable due to problems in school, then just being asked to clarify can set them off on a rant.

In addition, I enjoy posting, and discussing different aspects to a topic but men especially seem to view these sites as solely for the purpose of finding someone. The Man tells me that the only reason he joined b.com was to find someone and now that he has me he doesn't see any purpose going there.

dawntreader -> RE: Those who do not post (2/4/2007 7:25:41 AM)

Interesting thread... none of the Doms that have approached me with intent have been posters on the boards. Aside from looking at their profiles when they message me,  i only look at profiles of those who do post to gain a better understanding of the person behind the comment ( or as much as one can with INTERNET being INTERNET! LOL)

Interesting question i think if more people post, put threads out there would be a wider range of topics to debate that's my own personal opinion anyway.

eyesopened -> RE: Those who do not post (2/4/2007 7:57:14 AM)

to no one in particular...
i have looked at profiles of people who post and who i admire but have never used the forums to seek a Master.  Most of the time i write and feel pretty much like i'm talking to myself but that's okay too.  i've asked questions and have gotten advice and insight.  i don't think my posting here has any connection whatsoever to the "other side"  or if anyone reads my profile would be interested in what i may have to say on the forums.  i really don't think that because a person doesn't post should reflect negatively on them at all.  *laughs*  i have blundered here a-plenty and wouldn't want that to be a strike against me

missturbation -> RE: Those who do not post (2/4/2007 8:14:59 AM)

Some of us just have more to say than others. [:D]

Not me of course, i'm shy, retiring and would never dare speak in case of commiting infractions and doing what i cannot afford. [:)]

feastie -> RE: Those who do not post (2/4/2007 8:28:46 AM)

To the OP...

Perhaps people don't post because it's not a requirement of either side?

Just a thought.

windchymes -> RE: Those who do not post (2/4/2007 8:36:17 AM)

I think, simply, that it's only a small percentage of the general population that actually enjoys written/typed communication enough to spend time on the online forums....or fora, as I've seen recently.   Plus, some of us can type at a high rate of speed effortlessly.  But if you're not so blessed, then it might be enough of a chore as to be discouraging.

BOUNTYHUNTER -> RE: Those who do not post (2/4/2007 8:58:02 AM)

I am an educated man"a history degree but you can't tell it from my spelling ,why if I didn't have a spell checker standing by "ty baby"I would be a lost sout.I do enjoy the forems and expressing my views and chatting with others here..bounty

TopinPa -> RE: Those who do not post (2/4/2007 9:02:52 AM)

IMO posting in the forums is the best way for people to know who you are. The way I look at it; when I see a submissive women's profile before anything else and she looks pretty hot and her profile is written pretty well, I immediately look for forum posts. If there aren't any, chances are I'll move on to someone else.
I've always believed what people write to a response to a forum post is the best way to get an idea of how they think.

BDSM05478 -> RE: Those who do not post (2/4/2007 9:10:19 AM)

Wulfchyld, no pushing bellybuttons our guts might fall out of the gaping wound that creates.
