My ex in Chicago is panicking over my planned home purchase. cos the place is "old".   i said, Dennis these towns were settled in the 1700s- most every house here is old.

i said my mortgage will be cheaper then rent.

where else am i going to go???

anyhow- i guess he doesnt like change.

when i leave here- im pretty sure there is one straw in teh gilgan island hut that i pull out- and the place will collapse. 27 days and counting......  :-D

Have you signed your life away?  There are so many papers to sign for a mortgage. The attorney's papers, the bank's papers.  argh

Congrats on the house and everything you're putting into it. I remember you seemed pretty freaked out when you're landlord started jerking you around, so nice to see a positive outcome from that! It looks like it sure turned out better than expected, and better than staying where you were.

Hey Popeye- the mortgage is fixed- 30 yrs- 5.5% :-)

ok- mortgage people, plumber, code, banks, utilites, jenn-
arghhhhhhhhhhh!

as you may know i am buying a foreclosure. i called to put heat on
them- as we want a april 13th closing. they need to sign 2
addendums...and drag thier feet- i called utah where they are at-
and they referred me to my realtor!!

my main checking is frozen- as being that i filed bankrpsty i dont
qualify to do biz there.

went to Milton, bought 9 more gallons of paint, gave jenn a key. i
got refreshemnts. 5 students coming tomm.

i wish the plumber/carpenter came with the place!!!!! try to pay
bills with no checks!!!

argh.

anyhow.
i "think" we are ready for the students.

monday the gas turns on and the handyman comes back.

i have to get most bang for buck per the kids.

the 2 charities i chose- free speech tv, and the local batterred
womans shelter. :-)

supposedly the local paper will cover tomm- as it is classified
as "habitat for humanity. [i also will offer free computer
tutoring as my end of the deal]
i wonder just how expensive my fix it guy is.... we talked about a
possible 1st floor bathroom. ..as well as enclosing the porch.

tonight i did some more packing.

the repair man is excited. im serving refreshments and we do have
running water- tho it is cold.

i hope chris the handyman catches onto my style. we are slapping it
together for the mortgage- THEN i plan to make it NICE.

i hope this sink doesnt sink.

the realtor lectured me on clutter.....egads. ok-

gotta make a list.

only in Pennsylvania. i can think of no other state- that i would
have things this good.

---and with low housing costs- that frees up cash to travel if i so
choose...

roger

talked to my brother Ed last night. some of his advice is good.... but we are butting heads.  im not looking to live in a musuem- suburbia- where every house is just like the next one. his style is suburbia- where as im more artsy.  so i got a lecture on how much it is costing to install a toilet. whatever- it needs done for the mortgage.

in teh bigger picture- i plan on living there forever. he and mom- tell me to stop talking a bout a wheelchair and 1st floor bathroom.  if you live to be old- 1. elederly prefer no stairs and 2. baths should allow space for wheelchairs.  he also doesn't want me making a 1st floor room into a bedroom.

when i viisit his pllace- i get nervous as one daresant have a light on- and there cant be a spect of dust. [and cars never  leak oil/etc]

color me a redneck.

suburbia is nice- but i plan to live there many yrs

Today- had 10 students from habitat for humanity. They tore out carpet- scraped and painted for 5 hours. the local newspaper- will feature such in tommorrows paper- they plan on "following me thu the process".   The reporter interviewed me- later a photgrapher came and took several pictures.

In return for their help- I made a donation to the batterred womans shelter, and free sepech tv- I also plan to offer free tutoring on basic computer skills to the community.

I explaned that- Sunbury is set to become a destination...I plan to bring out the former glory of the house- with a green touch- and very high teck.

We made a small dent into the place.

A certain group of folks are set on making the town a big to do.  A few nay sayers claim it cant be done.

Today was a huge success!!
What a day!
