Has that ever actually been proven in a court of law?

yes, but the charges of impeachment themselves were not sexual harassment, but perjury, and what everybody got pissed about was the lying, not what he was lying about.

i wasn't "led to believe" anything - i was talking about something specific, and you're attempting to muddy it up by talking about something else.

He was lying under oath in a sexual harrassment lawsuit, annabelle. The man was forcing himself on women who didn't want him, and he has been accused of rape - so it was never "just" about sex, as you have been misled to believe.

quote:

ORIGINAL: hisannabelle

oops, sorry, i must have missed "rape" on the list of impeachment charges...all i see is a bunch of perjury (well, and obstruction of justice, but obstruction of justice to rape...a bit of a stretch). which is actually what we're discussing! go figger.

Dc Novice, Clinton settled his case with Ms Jones.  He paid her 400,000$( I believe, could be wrong about the amount) to make it go away.  Because he could not possibly be found innocent, and he knew it.  Now if Linda tripp had not made the tape, he would have gotten away with it most likely.

They normally don't even investigate people who over the course of medical treatment  become addicted to pain medication, much less become obsessed with them. Therefore,  when it comes to who is speaking the truth here, Ann Coulter comes much closer to the mark than you do - so, right back at you, domiguy.

quote:

If this had been one of us, think we would have got such a sweet deal?

It doesn't surprise me that you need some help following the logic of this argument because it is a little confusing...You see Rush wasn't being investigated for being addicted to pain killers...Which he admits he was(No one can argue that point)

He was being investigated for the ILLEGAL practice of DOCTOR SHOPPING as well as lying to a medical practioner to get more narcotics....This is Illegal...And oxycontin is a dangerous narcotic.

Prosecutors' three-year investigation of Limbaugh began after he publicly acknowledged being addicted to pain medication and entered a rehabilitation program. They accused Limbaugh of "doctor shopping," or illegally deceiving multiple doctors to receive overlapping prescriptions, after learning that he received about 2,000 painkillers, prescribed by four doctors in six months, at a pharmacy near his Palm Beach mansion.
The warrant alleges that sometime between February and August 2003, Limbaugh withheld information from a medical practitioner from whom he sought to obtain a controlled substance or a prescription for a controlled substance.

Here is a link to the White House Drug policy where it explains the dangers of oxycontin as how Doctor Shopping is illegal.
http://www.whitehousedrugpolicy.gov/drugfact/prescrptn_drgs/index.html

Production & Trafficking
Individuals illegally obtain prescription drugs through a variety of means, such as:24
  • Doctor shopping or other prescription fraud
  • Illegal online pharmacies
  • Theft and burglary (from residences, pharmacies, etc.)
  • Receiving/purchasing from friends or family
  • Overprescribing (negligent or occasionally even intentional overprescribing by physicians or other prescribers

So again you are just like all of those Democrats that you despise as you continually make excuses for people who break the law...Instead of saying Rush was wrong and a hypocrite... You defend him....Sounds like you would be good at making excuses for Clinton or anyone else that you admire who messes up...Because you obviously believe from your post that no one should take responsibility for anything.

AnnCoulter is wrong it has nothing to do with treatment...The story is about an addict who got ahold of 2,000 tablets of a heavy narcotic in the period of 6 months....He went "Doctor shopping" to acquire the narcotics as well as lied to a health care practitioner to fuel his addiction....These are illegal activities....

She is wrong and you are wrong....But make excuses...Clinton lover...Do you even like Clinton?...Because I can no longer distinguish between the Republicans of today from  the democrats who defended a "lying" Clinton.

i'm not coming to his defense, i'm simply stating that WHAT he lied about isn't the issue, the fact that he LIED and he got crucified for lying, but it's okay to not crucify other people for perjuring as well, is. i'm pissed about the double standard, which has nothing to do with the issues of sexual harassment, adultery, OR revealing sensitive information. (but hell, if we're going to bring in what was lied about, then we have to admit that the stuff that was perjured in this case was a little more relevant to our nation's welfare, and not to the private life of the people involved.)

The Jones case dealt with sexual harrassment, not perjury. My question was whether the perjury charge had been proven in a court of law. It was a yes or no question.

That's hilarious...

Don't you remember him wagging his finger at you and telling you that you had better listen to him, because "(he) did not have sexual relations with that woman, Ms Lewenski"

THAT was part of the sexual harrasment lawsuit. THAT was one of his lies. He's a rapist in my book, and he shouldn't have to lie about a damn thing if he's a gentleman.

Liberals don't care though. "Rapist, schmapist" they say. He's a Leftist, so they love him.

do i need to point out that i'm not necessarily a leftist, and that i'm simply pointing out the harsh reality of a double standard in this case? even if i were a "leftist," i don't think that'd make it any better. :) the point is, it's a double standard. muddy it up with what's behind the charges all you want. it's still not right.

Nice Limbaugh imitation, Sanity, but you didn't actually answer the question: Did a court convict Bill Clinton of perjury or not?

Nice Hillary impression, dc - but haven't you heard of the stained dress

What does a technicality matter. Look it up yourself, after all - I'm not going to be here to hold your hand every single time you want to know the answer to some trivial little thing that doesn't matter. Okay?

More vitriol and evasion--classic Republican tools for avoiding inconvenient facts.

The fact, of course, was that no court ever tried, much less convicted, Bill Clinton of perjury.

But don't let "a technicality" like the truth get in the way of your character assasination.

It was almost surreal when they interviewed that no-good bitch Madeleine Albright and a few others as they stumbled out of their limoswhat they were going to do now.
Albright; "We're, we're, .....going to do our jobs!"
The other cabinet members; "yeah, we're going to do our jobs!"
lol The look on that evil woman's face was priceless!

Perhaps it is because he may be more than just a lowlife scumbag.  Perhaps he is witty, rich, urbane, educated, powerful, talented and according to some good in the sack.  Popeye you will notice that I have not denied his being a lowlife scumbag.
If you wish to attract the quantity and quality of women that seem to be attracted to slick willie perhaps you should become a Rhodes scholar, speak a couple of foriegn languages, become accomplished with several musical instruments, be a successful candidate for president of the U.S, become wealthy, become a published author and hone your bedroom skills...if you add all of that to being a lowlfe scumbag then perhaps you will get the babes too.  I doubt that just being a lowlife scumbag in and of itself will work....but then I have been wrong before.

Actually Bill pled out to the disbarment
Clinton accepted the penalty under a deal with Special Prosecutor Robert Ray, a successor to Kenneth W. Starr. The panel voted to disbar Clinton for five years and impose a $250,000 fine. Clinton has paid the fine.
