I appreciate all of your posts here. Even the contrary posts illustrated the difficulties we face. Being one that appreciates all aspects of the boards I often find quite a diversity of practices here. The reason I may bind for discipline and you bind for discipline varies greatly. When we look at a group of people who’s philosophy has the virtue of paralleling BDSM we get a fresh perspective that we may not have considered before.

I look at the growth CM has given me and I can’t give the credit to the site for this growth but the members of this site. I often thought if I made a difference or a positive change in one person’s life it would make me a better person and is satisfying and rewarding feeling. Cm facilitates this for us and I do not know if they considered how many lives they affect by offering this free site and would like them to consider that.

I have grown to understand Dom’ and Domme’s better. I have grown to understand Subs and slaves better. I have found things that I could not wrap my head around before and have became accepting of such regardless of what kind of limit it is for me. I have learned that I can be as fond of a male poster as I can a female poster and so much more it would take too much bandwidth to list.

What I have learned most of all is that no matter my interest everyone has a valid and valuable perspective on it and are often willing to lend that to me. When I traipse into ask a Mistress I give my best effort to respect them. I do the same with slave/sub forums, Master’s, Switches, etc… When I step into Gor I try to hold the same level of respect that I would for all others however I step into Gor with a totally different mindset. I appreciate the primal nature of Gor and, what I perceive to be, the more earthy connection to nature. The ability to step away from traffic, 9-5 reasonability, microwaves, and all the comforts of home and let it dissolve to Master and slave away from it all. This is the respect I have for Gorean’s whether the practice in a earthy spiritual sense or not I know they can understand my position.

Why I bind a slave and why you bind are different and come from different headspaces.
Why I lash a slave and why you lash are different and come from different headspaces.
Why I leash a slave and why you leash are different and come from different headspaces.
Our approaches are no less valuable and fresh perspectives allow us to consider and grow. I learn something new everyday as CM and would like to thank you all for teaching me.

Unfortunately it seems that a great many of the goreans, male and female alike, have a nasty tendency to come to the nongor threads in order to preach their one true way.

I don't know if that's any more common than "Our" factions preaching "the one true way" at each other *winks*.... the various factions of non-Gor just don't have separate boards... (i.e., TPE, Old Guard, New Guard, Mickey Mouse, whathaveyou).....

There is a tendency on the part of  -any-one to think their way is the best way... and simply by the act of putting down the "preaching" of someone else, you are "preaching" yourself "superior" to them in a way *winks* (not saying it is intentional, but it IS a side effect if you think about it!)

p.s. FT - I thought those two threads (plus the explanation) was a stroke of brilliance *chuckles*... hopefully it will open some eyes

You may be correct in that norGors also post their one true way but I don't see it.
Probably because I don't go to the Gor threads to post my one true way. But I do see them come here.

I also get annoyed at the insistence of many people that they have more right to speak because they are owned slaves and I am 'only' a sub who obviously hasn't yet achieved her true slave potential. And yes, I've had people say that to me.

Is it a put down to say I don't like being preached at? Possibly, but it's an honest one as is my dislike of nonstandard writing. I don't pretend that I think everyone is wonderful because I don't.

You don't see non-Goreans post anything "true"? Come on, how many threads do we drown in all the time where everyone shouts about people using the words "true," "real," etc?? Are you saying that all the instances of those words are from Goreans??

A good example of boundaries and respect here:
