There's always a choice. Which one will be more fulfulling, and which one will be a longer and harder road, may be different ones or the same one, and they/it may be different from what we're inclined to, whether by genetics, life events or anything else.

If you want the blue pill, it's possible to stick a lot of reconditioning, cognitive therapy and drugs in a package and label it "The Blue Pill(tm) by Pfeniz".

OK!! It's Saturday. The rain has stopped. No, I haven't won the lottery, but there's always Tuesday for that. The kids cleaned the house while I was at work yesterday and tonight...ahhhh... tonight....
