If I convert to Islam, or become a Mormon, can I have a harem of male wives?  I think Islam would allow me at least four, and Mormonism pretty much says "as many as I can afford."  I'll just scribble out the parts about what genitalia the "husbands" and "wives" have to have.

Would w-...er, they, have to wear veils and such?

Hi everyone and Happy Holidays, and a Happy New Year to all!

Tammyjo: Eeck! I need to send you a check. If you glance at my journal for the last few weeks, you'll see I was 'under the weather' in a big way, and dropped a few balls while trying to recover. I'll be sending you a check in the next couple of days, ok?

I've backed off of all the emailing, meeting etc for a little while due to my recent health issues.

Thanks to my friends and subs in the cm community for being here for me through this trying time. You've made my life more fun and I've been able to rest up and be served at the same time. I am feeling better and more tests have been ordered.

My best to you and your's!
Irish

No, problem, Irish.

I hope you are feeling better.

Illnesses have been nasty around where I am this fall. My cough ended up lasting 42 days and it took 30 days of meds and then meds to deal with their side effects (I'm sure some of you ladies know the type of side effects that some antibiotics can cause us).

Happy Holidays everyone!

Fox is here this year though the entire thing -- congrats to him for finally standing up to his parents on the issue. I make him do all that hard family of origins decisions on his own cause I'm such a meany.

Lol...honey, covering a face like yours would be a crime.  I would be lynched.

Besides, I'm thinking of going with an Asian/sci-fi theme with my harem.  I like the way men look in a hakama.  [:D]

Muslim style or Near Eastern style harem -- only veils if you leave the harem itself.

Problem solved.

Obviously if you are out in a space where a non-family member woman might see you you MUST be veiled otherwise you will incite lust in women who have no right to you.

As an aside, there are a few African communities, not Muslim, where it is the men who are veiled in public. I can't remember the details but it was from a comparative class I took a long long time ago. There the justification was sacredness -- men's bodies were too sacred to be displayed to anyone other than their wives or mothers.

Just an FYI if you make sure to have some yogurt (acidopholus bacterium enriched) while on an antibiotic it will help to avoid that almost completely. 1 8 oz cup a day while on the antibiotic is usually enough.

I hate yogurt! Yuck.

But I'm sure it will be great advice for others. Luckily all my health problems ended about a month ago so I'm doing great!

sleuthingsub -> RE: Does anyone else here seek a male wife? (12/24/2007 1:34:34 PM)

They sell acidopholus in chewable pill form.  It really does make a world of difference when you're antibiotics (like I am now....yipeee...).

Off topic, but couldn't resist.

Ok ... this fell all the way to page 4 - where is everyone?

I'm working on moving on from the boy we were talking to ... there are a few boys out there who seem to be pretty good and I've been chatting with them.  I need to check and see how they feel about male wives, but I also need to figure out what Holly is up to.  Apparently she wants to be the one staying home now *shrugs* whatever she wants.  Maybe I can find one to work from home so they can both be home ....

Well Happy Holidays Ms.Karen!
Good luck to finding a male wife in the New Year!
That is something I am still working on myself!

SweetDommes -> RE: Does anyone else here seek a male wife? (12/24/2007 9:18:23 PM)

I was really hoping for a boy with a boy this year for Christmas ... but alas, it didn't happen.  Maybe next year.

We've already done our present exchange with Holly's family and each other - Holly and rob are off to her other grandmother's tomorrow and then to a friend's house - I get to work tomorrow night (I volunteered because the other night shift nurse has a 5 year old).  I'm hoping to have puppies soon (Pandy is due any day now), and am really hoping that Santa will help us out in the coming year.

How is everyone else doing tonight?

glen50 -> RE: Does anyone else here seek a male wife? (1/9/2008 1:59:52 PM)

It is a wonderful concept Ms Mia.Being the wife a a Domiant Women would probably be the most intimate and bonding relationship that could be ever constructed[:)]

loverGoddess -> RE: Does anyone else here seek a male wife? (1/9/2008 7:37:14 PM)

Hmm, I wonder if you could consider my sub my "Wife". I cook because I enjoy it...he does most of the cleaning and organizing. He spoils me rotten, takes care of me when I am sick. Lots of stuff like that. But even in our very unconventional relationship, I consider him to be my husband [well, almost]. He was my best friend and fiance before he was my sub. This makes me think. Thanks.

As I write this post, this thread is close to thirty pages long, and soon will have a birthday.

Over the course of the past posts, the male-wife concept was discussed.  The recap was…

…either a state-sanctioned marriage or a more informal union, perhaps with a BDSM ceremony featuring the male wearing the wedding gown, or perhaps BOTH principals were wearing gowns!! [it was unclear to me whether or not the gowns were to be matching or not].

…the male-wife will be the primary provider of domestic services, with the possible exception of cooking, depending on his skills and/or the culinary bent of the Domina.  These duties may be performed in normal casual dress or in any assortment of outfits starting with panties and up to a full maid’s uniform.

…the male-wife will probably work outside the home, as many female wives do these days, in addition to domestic duties. There may be rare cases where the Domina is a work-a-holic, and prefers having a full-time housewife.

It’s an interesting concept.  I’ve noticed that several Dominas have added the “male wife” idea to their profiles.

My question is: has this thread in any way affected anyone else’s thinking about the relationship dynamic they have, or seek to have, and if so, how?

SweetDommes -> RE: Does anyone else here seek a male wife? (1/16/2008 7:28:50 PM)

I think this thread just helped Holly and I to refine what it is that we are looking for.  We hadn't thought about it quite like this before, but now that we have, we like it more and more.

MzStripes -> RE: Does anyone else here seek a male wife? (1/17/2008 7:40:21 AM)

I do know I've done the vanilla spouse and that didn't work (as someone said got the tshirt...). The idea in itself is rather appealing. I'm curious of others, if I may ask, would the "wife" be a cuckold or is a sexual relationship included? I lean more towards a cuck. As I have a relationship that is also lifestyle ...just Dom/Domme. Does anyone here have such a situation? If so, I'd love having a chance to share issues/ideas.

I do not "have such a situation" myself...yet [damn the bad luck!]. However, as I read through the previous posts, I was struck by the diversity of relationships that people have imagined as consistent with the phrase "male wife". Since the "male wife" concept is so open to  interpretration, I personally do not see why it couldn't include cuckolding.

You are so funny!  Matching gowns, indeed!  LOL  I dunno if I agree this is a 'twue wecap', afly...  Several of us seem to perfectly adore the idea of a male wife...whose quite male.  Personally, were I to marry such a man, he'd not be wearing gurlie cloths in 'public'...if he wore them at all, it would be for our own personal pleasure.

OMG... that is just sooooo yummie.  Yes, all that and take care of the darn paperwork, too.  I'll just sign the checks, thank you very much.  Still, probably most of the time 'my wife' would be in jeans and a button-up shirt.  We can save 'dress-up', if he's into that...for special occasions.  Just my take on things at MY home...

…the male-wife will probably work outside the home, as many female wives do these days, in addition to domestic duties. There may be rare cases where the Domina is a work-a-holic, and prefers having a full-time housewife.

The other consideration here is...financial slavery.  I'm just not into it.  While we'd both probably work, and he'd pay his fair share; by and large his money would be his own.  When ya consider 50% of relationships fail...I just don't want to make money on one that did.  Yanno?  I know some guys think they want this; but ever hear such a guy talk about being happy to be back on the streets....broke?

afly, I really like how you think.  Actually, yes, this thread (and some others like it) are what made me consider a 'male wife'.  Still, the concept is so varried and so personal, really, that exactly what it entails depends on the two involved.  I would not like a timid, fawning male.....but there are many here who would.  I'd prefer a male wife who was quick on his feet, could determine what I needed and make it so; who adored me, and pampered me...but who also liked it that I adored and pampered him (if sometimes with a flogger!  WEG)

The term "male wife" has many different definitions to many different folks, which was what my recap was trying to bring out.  After all, how many threads here have been devoted to trying to agree on "slave" versus "submissive" versus "bottom"?  How much agreement do we have on those terms?

I do not seek consensus on this Message Board.  I've been around long enough to know I have a better chance of finding the Holy Grail.

As much as I usually speak out against "labels", I cannot defend any definition of "male wife" except the meaning negotiated and arrived at between a woman and her man in a particular partnership.  I like the phrase "male wife" because it suggests to me a level of intimacy and relationship that the words "slave" and "submissive" do not.

Of course, that's a purely personal reaction, probably because I'm a hopeless romantic at heart. [;)]

MzMia -> RE: Does anyone else here seek a male wife? (1/22/2008 5:26:07 PM)

Being a cuckold sounds reasonable AFIYW.

BUT, isn't it about what the parties involved want?

I don't seek a cuckold, and I don't see why being a male wife

would make you cuckold material.
