Um, I think a bit of Sinergy's context has been lost Gris....

He helps train Self Defense classes.

There are 2 ways to ward off an attacker. Try to scratch their faces, or unload a revolver into their chests.

Either way works.

if what you report is accurate

if there is not something seriously suspect about the methods and attitudes you bring to martial arts training of young girls

In dojo, there are rules.

In life, you teach a 6 year old girl to try to rip their attacker's carotid artery out with her teeth, and dance in their blood upon their corpse, rather than be a victim.

So to speak...

I have witnessed it. Although I could be full of bollocks myself, and it is not "his" method, and he is not teaching them "martial arts". He is teaching them how to fight for their lives when they are under adrenaline stress. His company is the one that came up with the theory of how to accomplish this, not him. So if you have an issue with it, take it up with the self defense industry

Good thing that exchange wasn't recored by 'Dateline'. Outside the dojo, after Stone Phillips read his dialog back to him, the local police would be there to throw him to the ground. It would present a great defense next time they "catch a predator". "Yes Stone, I had that IM exchange with the 14 year old and did come to the house with Smirnoff Ice and condoms, but it was part of her Martial Arts defense training."

No way. This ain't "Catch a Predator", this is what we *SHOULD* be teaching our children...

"KILL THE PREDATOR".

Whatever is available is a weapon. Advance, do not retreat. Hit until the threat stops moving, and then keep hitting until you're sure they AIN'T getting up.

We'd give them a parade and a cake for "Homicide in the Public Interest".

One less rabid animal running loose.

You know, it is easy to find reasons to be offended, it is just as easy to find beauty in things if a person wants to... these days I am really trying to find the beauty..."

Thank you for this sentiment. It is habit for many of us to take offense, and a powerful social force and spiritual practice when we shift to taking the good in a situation.

Do you have any idea how many people in show business, law enforcement, or politics I have been the mock assailant for?

I get hit on infrequently. I will not have anything to do with students for 6 months or longer after the class. It is a job. I leave it at work.

I have yet to hear of any complaints. It is not like people dont know what we do or how we do it. I let my boss do all the talking; Im just the assailant.

There was one father who called my boss and said...

"Did one of your instructors tell my daughter he was going to buttfuck her?"

My boss's response was...

"Probably."

The father went..

"Oh. Ok."

I did three classes yesterday and when I got home I was a wreck. Everybody out on the mat is adrenalized (which is a soup of approximately 30 hormones including adrenalin, epinephrine, endorphins, etc) and it takes the body a finite amount of time to feed itself the soup to counteract all of these in the bloodstream. So I do one class and get adrenalized, the counteraction time which includes things like cortisol and other hormones that have physiological reactions begins, I get adrenalized again while my body is pumping in the counteracting chemicals, the counteraction time with the new adrenalin and new hormones to counteract it,...

I mentioned to my boss that sometimes I feel I am getting too old for this. Her response was "yeah, it does catch up to a person after a while."

Exactly.

We teach a couple of weapons, farglebargle. Primary knees, elbows, and heel palms or eye strikes.

We teach them to take the fight to the assailant and to not stop fighting until the person stops moving.

As far as environmental weapons are concerned, I have trained with a lot of weapons and the dynamics of using a weapon one is not used to using intimately puts the wielder at a disadvantage.

Besides which, nobody can easily take my knees away from me and use them against me in a fight.

I want my students to end up fighting like a cat that does not want to be held.

That is disgusting & inappropriate no matter the context. Nor is it appropriate to ask a 14 year old girl if she has a brazilian wax!

There are many ways to invade a persons space without using a sexual advance. There are ways to show intimidation or danger without using sexual innuendo to a kid.

That there has never been a complaint may be a postive thing to you and your boss I think its sad. That there are people out there thinking this is something okay to do, is sad.

Of course not, there are standards of protocol which rapists and serial killers will adhere to when they are attacking women!

The process involves verbal desensitization so that the woman being attacked is able to keep her wits about her and fight for her life when some sick person is assaulting them.

p.s. On the other hand, the feedback we get from graduates who have had to use our stuff to defend themselves is that the mock assailants in class were generally a lot more verbally nasty. The students fighting for their lives actually found their real-life assailants boring and inarticulate in their attempts to be nasty.
