Popeye, it doesn't say that they're authorized to check the residency status of any illegal alien. Hell, if the police KNEW that someone was an illegal alien, I'd say go right ahead. But it says something different. It says they're authorized to check the residency of anyone who seems suspicious. And that includes you and me. You've never heard of illegal searches and seizures? There's a reason why they're unconstitutional. I don't believe in undermining the Constitution of the United States, even if it happens to seem inconvenient now and then. Of course, I'm aware that there are others who are only too eager to do just that. quote:

ORIGINAL: MzMia The bill also requires police to check the residency status of anyone suspected of breaking the law. Yeah, we wouldn't want to INCONVENIENCE illegal aliens now, would we? If a Police Officer asks someone to identify themselves I'm pretty sure the supreme court ruled that they do have to. If a Cop asked me for my i.d. and I refused to comply what do you think would happen to me? Illegal Aliens aren't entitled a lot of rights that citizens in this country have. And, if they know that they're illegals they can be arrested on sight.
