ORIGINAL: cyberdude611 Just the kind of junk you can expect from a socialized healthcare system that the Democrats want and are pushing hard for in this election.... John Edwards now says that a new system he is proposing should FORCE people to see a doctor as a form of preventive care. Now I agree that it is best to see a doctor often for check-ups. However I do not agree with this idea that the government should force you to go. What is it that liberals have such a problem trying to understand individual freedom? If someone wants to smoke. If someone wants to eat junk food. If someone refuses to go to a hospital....IT IS THEIR DECISION! It is their life and they should be able to choose how they wnat to live it. Why is this concept so difficult for liberals to understand? I know that having that hot fudge sundae after dinner is not good for my diet. But it should be MY choice whether to eat it or not. I dont need the god damn government to come in and tell me I can't. Liberals claim they are in favor of freedoms.... I sure as hell dont see much of it in their socialist policies. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070902/ap_on_el_pr/edwards_2 And,!! if you`re sick,he`s going to "FORCE"you to get well. Oh GOD, help us from this horrible monster!!!!! With your logic, you must think that bush`s record on health care ,is wonderful !(45 million w/ out healthcare insurance, and growing)<snickers> Aug. 29 (Bloomberg) -- The number of Americans without health insurance probably rose to a record in 2005 as medical costs increased three times as fast as wages, according to forecasts for a Census Bureau report today. The total has climbed every year since President George W. Bush took office, a point Democrats are likely to seize on in this year's congressional election. In February Bush called the 45.8 million who didn't have insurance in 2004 ``unacceptable in our country.'' Emory University Professor Ken Thorpe in Atlanta says Bush has done little to help these people. http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601070&sid=a8eJudCM7WkQ&refer=home
