I heard a rumor. I heard that while pulchritude is extremely important to the vanilla male, it is less important to the D/s male. Do you think this is generally true? A question asking for an absolute answer. Striving to speak in 'absolutes' I'd say it absolutely depends. It depends on your goal. Seeking primarily an outlet for sadistic desires or fantasies - "looks" are not a priority. Seeking a partner for yourself at an 'S&M' (using the 'stand & model' reference) gathering or event and looks and/or "looking good" takes precedence. Relationships tend to, or at least should, be appearance neutral assuming that the people involved appreciate the reality that as good, or bad, as either look in the present, they are subject to change in the future. The reality is, the flavor of the interaction may not be 'vanilla' but the initial contact is no different. Where looks are on the priority list is very much a function of the overall agenda. If there is one "rule" it is, regardless of person's self image of their appearance, there is a "paddle for every ass" wanting to experience the 'life' or its 'style'.
