There is a vast difference between feminists and man bashers, so let's not get into silly arguments about definitions.

I'm a feminist, as most modern women are, but I'm definitely no man basher. I've had many men in my life that I've adored, boyfriend, son, brother, father, the surgeon who saved my dads life, friends. I might dislike individual men, just as I dislike individual women, but I certainly don't bash a whole gender, male of female. That would be very silly.

I'm not a feminist; I'm a humanist.  Both sexes are equal although they have different assets, and anyone who doesn't think so shouldn't vote, teach, preach or breed.

And I *love* men:  I wouldn't fuck any other kind of ass!

Lol...OP, thanks for posting that link.  It reminds me of soooo many men, vanilla and D-types, that think that is the way to rule the roost.  "I am Dom, hear me roar!"   rofl

As a transgendered female I think I'll sit on the fence on this issue. I actually see it from both sides of the coin having functioned in both male and female genders.

Trying to claim one gender is better or worse than the other on the basis of a handful of people is a bit short-sighted.

I write from personal experience and trust me, there's quite a few people out there with very interesting and 'original' concepts on gender and sexual orientation.

Here is a web site about misogynists... compare it to a real dom and you'll get the idea... some doms are simply asses, as are some vanilla men. This may help to tell the difference...

what is the goal of this post?
curious ;)

because you could have chosen something about slaves/subs too

The list was not "male-bashing." It was "misogynist-bashing." Not the same thing.

The ones I have a problem with don't see a difference.

Somehow this topic was totally changed from misogynistic attitudes towards women to male bashing... hmmmm... could be a number 3... ROFL.... I never meant to MALE Bash... it had nothing to do with that. I just know that there are some not so savory characters out there, who prey on women. If the shoe doesn't fit, don't put it on, if you know what i mean. I was never ever implying that all men or doms are misogynists. Thankfully, most men are truly loving.

3. Take over the conversation. Attack as much as possible. This not only shows the women that you’re a man but puts them on the defensive.

I agree, the beauty of starting a thread here is that they take their own course, they change and evolve into issues that people find important just because its not always the response that the OP wanted doesnt devalue it.

Actually, I have a good friend who's so called 'dom' is very misogynistic. It just got me thinking. And I just wanted to warn other unknowing submissives that there is a difference between a dom and a misogynist. Hey I know sometimes they overlap; although i don't know how you can be a good leader, as a dom should be and be a misogynist. I know it is out there. My own personal opinion is why would anyone want to follow someone who hates women from his core? Ahhh... it takes all kinds. I know that.. So it this post was not about male bashing, or feminism or even female superiority or male superiority. It was about opening the eyes of the unknowing. That's all... Dreamer

PS it was not meant to be a flaming entry either...

The issue I think you have is that what one may consider abusive another may consider a soul mate Sir said to me of himself fairly early on

"Demon to some Angel to others"

and he is  right, he would have been very bad for me when I was a newbie, and he is perfect for me now. There is no such thing as a "real Dom" its a pathetic term and basically means, I am right you are wrong. In a lifestyle that steps over socially constructed 'norms' one would think that we were more open to other people, seems we are not, posts like thois proove it. Personally I wouldnt want to be in a relationship with a Mysoginist but Mysogny has levels its not as you say "hating women to their very core" it can be fearing women, or slightly disliking them. If for example you chose to punch your partner in the face every day and he chose to smash you around the head with a wine glass every sunday and both of you were happy in the relationship then who the fuck am i to tell you otherwise, just because I wouldnt want it, and it wouldnt be right for me DOESNT mean that its wrong. Also not all subs are women, a mysogonist Dom could have male subs, and interestingly women can be mysogonists too.

Some are going to dark places; for whatever reason, that's their destination. I dunno.

In addition to all you wrote, colordin, it must be remembered that people that do what we do often do not like having to justify ourselves to those outside our relationships. This thread is turning out to be one of those "let me warn you about all the big bad doms out there that will abuse you"... just one step away from the blacklists

This isn't the first such thread posted here, it will not be the last. It has been pointed out repeatedly that one person's abuse is another person's ideal relationship.... it is a really hard thing to define. I think it comes down to consent, which can be a fine line too, but you play with the big kids, you might get hurt.

I think it is more fruitful to remind people that what they do should feel good to them, and if it doesn't perhaps they are in the wrong relationship. Much more fruitful than trying to spot "misogynists" and other misc. abusers...

Just my opinion

Yup seconded Ss :D

I am always wary of warning because its so often idle gossip, when i first met girlie and Sir she was warned by numerous people from another forum that I use, these people had at this time never met me luckily she told them to fuck off but it just goes to show.

Also what makes me giggle is that this negativity is almost always aimed firmly at Doms, recently a friend of mine was streated very badly by a sub, she lied and cheated and treated him generally like he was worthless. He is one of my closest friends and this cut him up, the worst thing was that this sub then went around bad mouthing him and a lot of his 'friends' now dont talk to him. Its very easy to throw the word abuse around. I even heard one woman say

"when a relationship breaks down the Dom must accept responsibility" - bull!

we can always be shitheads regardless of oriantation.

To me there is a huge difference between a dominant and a man who wants to browbeat women into becoming mindless drones.   Unfortunately men who want that drone are sometimes attracted to this lifestyle.  Fortunately most submissives can spot them a mile away and stay clear.

To me a "twue" dominant gives as much or more than they get.  They know how to get someone to want to serve them and to get a sense of accomplishment and joy from it.  A "twue" dominant ends up making the sub more rather than less.

At least thats my definition of "twue."

I took it to mean that that's the true way - FOR THEM, and they're willing to accept that other people have their own definitions.
