Not from anyone on this site but one joker tried it with the threat he'd out Neets and I to her parents. I met him at the appointed time and place where he repeated the threat and demand so when my Parents in Law rolled up a feew minutes later I asked him to repeat his "news". They already knew. The Federal Police turned up soon after and arrested him. Wonderfull things when all incomming calls on our landline is recorded for security reasons and I was wired for the meeting. he is still behind bars..

My ex husband threatened to tell everyone about me.  So I beat him to the punch and took away his power.

There was a girl on this message board whom I had been friends with, and shared a "compromising" photo of myself with.  She later threatened to post it for everyone to see.  She has since changed her name on here.  At the time it stressed me.  But when I told my Master about it, he laughed and said, "Well it is a hot picture..."  I stopped worrying about it after that.

People will do what they do.  There will always be unscrupulous people in the world.  How much power we give them is our own choice.

Some years back I had a work related incident, where the officve wally thought he could blackmail me into doing his work by threatenning to out me, so I outed myself! I told the office manager why, and the office wally found himself transfered to the post room.

There are some real jerks out there, apparently.
Of course no one has tried that with me; I am quite outspoken about what I like/want/need as it is.
But I do understand the people who have 'sensitive' positions, and don't want to risk ruining their careers.

Don't ask, Don't tell......

Really though, it is easy to be nonchalant about being outed if being outed wiill not harm you personally or professionally. Yet there are quite a number of professions where being outed would be extremely damaging, if not career ruining. For those folks, being outed has to remain a major concern. One has to walk in the other's shoes. I think the actual number of those blackmailed is probably rather small. That doesn't really matter to those who would be permanently harmed if their fetish was made public.

I agree. I wonder how often people in these types of professions are wrongly accused of being married. They give their partners fake names. They don't want to tell anyone in the lifestyle where they live. They won't give out their phone number because someone could find out where they live and follow them to work.  Such behavior is all too common for married men trying to cheat. In fact, cheaters often use career as an excuse for their secretiveness so their bdsm partners won't suspect anything. Is it really their profession (I'm sure in some cases it is) or are they hiding something?

At this point, those at my job would not care. (they would just snicker, and add that to the list of weird stuff they have seen me do and say.)
My family, well I don't want them to know, but if someone attempted blackmailing me, I would tell them myself, then put up with that BS.  And hopefully if that ever happens, I have documentation of some sort.

I have had quite a subs wanting to enact blackmail fantasies, it's tempting, but I always think, ehhh. What if he turns on me?  Ehhh no.

Blackmail is a 2 way street with dire consequences for the Blackmailer if it can be proven that they are attempting it.

1. Legally it is a felony. You don't have to blackmail for money for it to be a felony, and if it is for sex or favors of other types, it can lead to other charges as well. Tell your friend to tape record, save emails and chats and then tell the blackmailer..the police are being contacted.

2. The self same exposure they are threatening can affect them as well with the added kicker of "and after he found me on this site having joined up himself for his OWN reasons, he tried to blackmail me into doing such adn so for him..." If the community and people she deadls with are subject to looking down on her/him for being here, it' it going to be worse for the person doing the blackmail as not onloy are they on the site themsleves for their own reasons, BUT they are lower than the bottom of the slime a snail leaves behind to try and blackmail someone over it.

As for myself, I am pretty much blackmail proof. Been out and outspoken most of my life and my relatives are mostly dead now.

Huh??????  Isn't the effectiveness of blackmail dependent on the person being blackmailed needing to maintain secrecy?  So if you are being blackmailed you are not going to out yourself by going to the police or exposing your blackmailer to the people you don't want to be exposed to in the hopes that they'll look down on him/her more than they'll look down on you.

Eep, that sucks. I understand that some people on this board wouldn't care, but others DO have family they'd rather not stress out, or a job whos management wouldn't look to kindly towards happy nekkid pix.

As for me, I had one guy copy/past a shot of me... that was ALREADY on my profile... and threaten to post it on the boards...

Laziest blackmailer ever.

It's recently come to my attention, that a good freind of mine is being black mailed by someone they met through this site.  It made me wonder just how many of us are being abused in this manner for fear of their non-vanilla activities being made public.
And so my question, ever been black mailed or had it threatened?

There is a putz on here that is local and dreams of being a dom. He has been making the rounds with all the women of the area, starting off very nice and chatty to get personal info then trying to use it to blackmail them. I found out about him from a local woman that actually was worried about him. He had noticed that she and I communicated and when she blocked him, he started communicating with me, pretending faux concern for her. I was aware of him and what he'd been up to. Giving her some legal options and contacts. I also had been given a link to his registered sex offender profile.

Since then, he's created several new profiles and deleted old ones. Unaware that some of us females are not as tech stupid, or nearly as fearful of twerps like him, as others. He just happened to write me some mildly threatening crap on a day when my patience with idiots was very thin. Saying he was going to run around posting fliers about me of some sort all over downtown and that I should watch for them. I replied something along the lines of "have a party! I am sure anyone that actually knows me will have a great laugh" Then, because his behaviour is illegal, I gave all the info, emails...isp..etc, to some friends of mine in law enforcement. What they do with it, I have no control over.

What I really do not get is.......what kind of idiot would even imagine that a relatively sane, intelligent, person would create a profile, WITH A PHOTO, and not consider that people are going to find out??? I've have all sorts of people "find" me over the last few years. Including my adult children and my boss. Who knows how many have seen stuff and never said anything. If it mattered, I would not have done it!! Hell, I had one local college boy walk into our shop and turn 10 different colours of red when he recognised me one day. I just remembered him from a couple of emails he had sent me. Of course it took me a few hours, long after he'd gone, for it to sink it. I also used to have a coffee cup I got from Diana Vesta's website sitting on the desk most of the time, until it got knocked off and broke.

Right now I've got my profile shut off for several reasons. It is a very busy time of year for me and I haven't got time to deal with the emails. I don't like, not answering, so it is easier to avoid getting them. The photo is getting old and needs updated. AND, I am concentrating on one particular female so not interested in pretending otherwise.

So yeah, anyone that wants to try and blackmail me...........have a party......the party favours are going to be pretty pathetic.

I keep this seperate from family and friends. If someone told them or they asked me they would just smile and not be suprised at all. Everyone knows about my attitude and how open I am. I live as a very free spirit. You live a short life so why say I wish I would have done that now it is to late. It is never to late. Blackmailing me is not an option because no one I know would care.

Sure, that's what the blackmailer assumes.
The problem is, people are not usually as easily bullied as all that.
I'd laugh as I was dialing the FBI, and a very good lawyer...

what are they gonna do? get my discount at the leather store taken away? :P

as many flames as this might bring, I personally believe that there are only a few cases in which someone should legitimaly fear being "outted" (public people and so forth) though even that is up for debate

i took my sister in to live with me and having to go to work and leave her in my home allowed her access to things better left unseen.  i was open to her about those things and she later used them against me....eventually outing me to my family. This left me in the uncomfortable position of being asked a lot of personal questions by "concerned" people that i had no interest in answering.  i had to think of my children so i lied and said she was delusional (not too far from reality as she is an alcoholic and does say many outrageous things).  They believed me so it backfired on her.  i hate to be in that position but it was necessary, for now anyway.

It's sucks to have things hanging over your head like that.  i was also blackmailed for several years by my older brother who threatened to set me up and all sorts of unsundry things if i did not share my settlement with him.  i told him to go fuck himself and that i wouldn't give him 10 cents and to take his chances, my word against his.  He happened to be a 3rd party to something and he said he would lie if i did not pay him money  i did nothing wrong, so i had nothing to fear except that he would carry through on his unscruptulous intentions.  He ended up damaging a car i had beyond repair.

Needless to say they are both out of my life, forever.

Ironically, I have men on here that beg me to blackmail them.  I even worked out a scenario with one where he would bring a bag of money, I would slip a 20 out of it to keep for myself, and he would simply take the rest back at the end of a session.  He was so disappointed that I wasn't going to take thousands from him that he stopped writing.

I actually had someone offer me his service on cam yesterday with the provision that he doesn't show his face.  He wants to keep his privacy.  It may very well be that he is afraid of being blackmailed, though I am sure I wouldn't recognize his face anyway.  I am amazed at how many on this site choose not to put up a photo for privacy's sake.  To me it smacks of fear and of discomfort with one's own life choices.

....Speaking of which I remember playing with someone in the MSN chatrooms who was into being blackmailed as a form of play, it was fun making her squirm and beg not to be outed or have personal info. given ut, but W/we both new it was just play, not the ame thing as what the O.P is talking about. but what you said made Me remember the good times I had in the BDSM related rooms on MSN.

You're right.  A local submissive male I know was telling me of a situation he was in.  He met up with a dominant woman at her home, having known her for awhile.  While there, she had him strip on her porch before coming inside, and then she tied him up and put him in all sorts of slutty and "compromising" positions...then proceeded to photograph him.

While he was still tied up, she went through his wallet and got his business card and address, and later told him unless he paid her what she required, she would send her photos of him to his employer and family (he has an underaged son living with him).

His next step was to drive to the local police department and turn her in.  That put an end to that, pronto.

No.  However, we do occasionally receive messages from submissives requesting to be blackmailed.

Nope... never even had anyone try.  Kind of surprises me a little considering I'm otherwise already very much in the public eye.  Maybe I'm just too scary in my profile pic or something.

It is a danger to some of us. It has happened to me with someone disgruntled. It was not a request for money, but a demand that would have caused someone else lots of trouble. I bit the bullet after some consideration and took the hit. However, everyone keep in mind, that you not only can go to the police for attempted blackmail, but also bring a civil suit against the blackmailer for damages and take what they have or will have for many years to come.
