I'm a teacher..   "No thanks" to posting pictures (with my face) here on CM.

What I do in my bedroom... (livingroom, kitchen, hallway, bathroom.. ahem ~sorry I digress) is NO ONE'S business.    It's not about "Leather Pride" - it's about my privacy.

It's not a badge of honor to be involved in D/s and BDSM. It's just a personal choice. I'm not embarrassed by the way I love a Man. In fact, anyone that knows me knows I prefer a traditional (1950s) household.

My students and the school board don't need to know I'm into spankings, fistings and wartenburg wheels.

Keeping private things private is sensible and in good taste. Who likes to hear the vanilla person brag or complain about how good/bad the spouse was in bed last night? It's not suitable for a workplace.

My own posts were in response to someone who was so worried about being exposed that he claimed the blackmailer would have the upper hand. That is going completely overboard, and I hope everyone reading this thread understands that if someone tries to blackmail you, it is absolutely possible to fight back successfully.

Hi, Ja......I get blackmailed all the time, my name is Ron Melby and I live in Richville, Minnesota.

You should probably be aware that if you decide that you can get close enough to me (in person, 'cause I throw my mail away, there is way too fuckin' many bills in there......) and I am computer illiterate, I don't know what IM me means.......and we finally meet in person, you are going to have to suck alotta cock, so there is that to consider...........but if you think there is some kinda money here, well...I grow rock and thistle, and the brickyards are overpowering me, and the nigerians can lay up a bag of thistle seed for your birds in bulk, when all I gots is a tweezers and a bee suit...........well you can just have at it.....

Keep in mind, I think location of where people live also has a say in how bad "being outed" could be. I'd think you would be much more likely to lose your job/friends/spouse if you were discovered in the southern "Bible Belt" than you would be in other areas.

Even if you don't believe that there are good reasons that cause some of us to maintain our privacy, you should still respect that.

I can easily imagine myself in a situation where I would have to be more vigilant about my privacy then I am now.

If it was a stranger, or someone I didn't know, then I would act like they were bluffing, but an ex-husband, or someone else that was close, I don't know........hard to say exactly how I would react.
