Let's see.... reading the article, it turns out that Obama thinks that the Nuremberg trials were a good example, that he thinks enforcing Clinton's kill on sight order could make Bin Laden a martyr, and that he hasn't spread how he plans to proceed across the media.

I can see why those things would support your belief that he should never be trusted with high office...

     Obama on National Security

    No need to go to Iraq or Afghanistan now, he's had his picture taken with people who have theories that agree with his...

Just a bit of goalpost-moving, in case OBL ends up pining for the fjords before GWB leaves office.

quote:

"Osama bin Laden and his top leadership — the people who murdered 3,000 Americans — have a safe-haven in northwest Pakistan, where they operate with such freedom of action that they can still put out hate-filled audiotapes to the outside world," Obama said. "That's the result of the Bush-McCain approach to the war on terrorism."

Before: First WTC attacks, USS Cole, Embassy bombings in Kenya & Tanzania, 9/11...

After: Hate-filled audio tapes.

Sounds good to me.

I keep hoping that the man who will emerge from the crucible of our process will be someone I can trust.  Not today...

Look on the bright side: one of his chief national security advisors thinks we should look to Winnie The Pooh.for foreign policy advice.

To be lectured to by republicans.

Nice try....

Anyone who listens to republicans/neo-cons concerning foreign policy needs to put in more thought than "fight them there,so we don`t have to fight them here or the surge is working".

With republicans controlling the war on terror,terror attacks are up worldwide.They`ve blown the war in Afghanistan with the Iraq debacle and let bin-laden get away.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The war on terror is mostly police work,with a small but affective killing/capturing force.
You can`t fight a war on terror with an army.The terrorists don`t have an army or operate like soldiers.
They operate like criminals and need intel/police resources to fight them.
The republicans claim that the response to terror should be a military one and try to sell the occupation of Iraq as fighting terrorist.
Republicans have only managed to built the world`s best recruiting tool and terrorists factory in the ME.
That`s why Mr.Obama said that.Because republicans have zero credibilty on these issues.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The way he bitch slapped your McCain guy is what`s got you miffed.He figuratively tore McCain a new ass hole and handed his ass to him.

McBush ME policy is a complete failure and all Mr.Obama needs to do point that out.It`s self explanatory.

The Israelis are making peace w/ Palestinians in spite of McBush policy and the Iraqi president is meeting(without conditions) with Iran`s president.

I think the candidate for change and a peaceful,brighter future is clear.

It isn`t the guy trying to frighten folks and threaten them with WW III.

        I count on Barry to have some very intelligent sounding things to say in his prepared remarks, Alum.  It's when he starts spouting ignorance from the cuff that he makes me shake my head again...

         Such freedom of action to produce audiotapes?  Audiotapes???  As we used to call out during basketball games all those years ago, AIR BALL!

      For the record, O59, McCain isn't "my guy."  Please make a note of it.  At this point, my vote will probably go to Parker/Stone.

Produce tapes,operate a worldwide terror organization and make babies with his new wives.

Mission accomplished.

OBL is a financier and motivational figurehead for those who conduct actual violent operations, and he is still free to continue to function effectively in that capacity... as evidenced by those tapes, and the continuation of violence.

If you want base your beliefs on ignoring that, feel free... but I'm running low on irony meters

I`ll yell bullshit on that, Popeye.

I never defended Mrs. Clinton over Mr Obama.

I stayed out of that one.

But that is in the past,I hardly remember the primary  and a McBush vs.Obama race is on.So is the battle of ideas.

Mr. Obama is going to prove quite able to state,explain and defend his positions.

I guess we definitely wouldn't want to kill him then.

Capture him alive, and give him the most publicized trial in history to spout his jihadist nonsense, and then put him in jail, where he won't inspire anyone to any more violence.

Just like we did to Sheikh Abdul Rahman.

That's a great plan.  Winnie The Pooh-approved.

Yeah, Nuremberg was such an abysmal failure, look at how well the Reich used that to their publicity advantage, and regained all their support and power.

Or did you mean on the 'we don't need to learn from no steeenking history' planet?

       And there have been how many attacks on US soil by this "world-class terror organization" since 9/11?

Putting him in jail would have humiliated him and robbed him of his celebrity.

His manhood and cojones would have disappeared with his mojo.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I guess the Bush plan was better.
If you think the measure of success for terrorism is the continued launching of repeat attacks on US soil, you've just disqualified yourself from any credibility on the subject.
The "on US soil " caveat is cute,but misleading.
Do you think that the 4000 plus GI`s family`s care where their boys were killed?
Disgusting.
While you`re acting as an expert on terrorism and world affairs,can you explain how military action, an army or a middle east invation could have prevented the 9/11 attacks?
Details......
