You get a full body waxing for $69!?

I got my legs done for $70!  Not fair, so not fair! :-(

Of course, when I move in with my Owner in two months full time, I will be helping with expenses and I will be doing a majority of the housework.  My Owner does spend money on me, but she never goes well beyond her means to do so.  Still...that in mind...I'm quite the spoiled pet.  When I move in, it will be beneficial to the both of us from an economic standpoint and an emotional standpoint.  We'll both be spending less than what we'd be spending apart.  I think, as her slave, it's one of my duties to be as useful as I can be, and it doesn't matter if that's by staying at home and helping around the house, or by working and helping pay for stuff.  Luckily, I will be able to do both with relative ease.

You can get a full body wax for $69??  Guess the airfare would wreck that savings.....

My New Personal Goal, now that I am middle aged, is to be a Wealthy Housewife.   I can do it really cheaply, since I do my own waxing, and hey!!  the beatings will continue no matter what!  But, that would make me a financial dominant in some circles, wouldn't it!

I would love to have someone stay at home and keep the house while I did other stuff, but that's not in the picture right now.  She would be all gussied up, though, just like Me!

When it comes to economics, I work off a partnership basis where we both contribute to whatever expenses we jointly accumulate.

I am a lot farther along financially then the girl I date, so the percentage of her contributions is usually lower.

What we spend money on and how much we each contribute is determined by me, based on our needs and wants at the time (my wants tending to come first). My girl smokes and if things continue to go well and we move into a more serious commitment, that is an expense that will be cut very quickly.

And...geez...600 a month on clothing and footwear can kiss my ass lol

Holy crap, the total you came up with is almost exactly what both Alpha and I spend on bills/rent/miscellaneous in a month! But I guess that's what being a poor student is all about. When I graduate I will be working the 9-5 job, leaving him to focus on his passion of building guitars without worrying about the income from it. He will even be the stay-at-home parent when it comes to starting a family. whatever set-up works best for you though.

Places where I save money on your list are the hairstyling (I've done my own for years, getting better at cutting it and styling), manicures/pedicures, and I invest in razorblades instead of going for professional waxing. I don't think Alpha would really notice (besides the bill) if I went to getting all that professionally done. Oh and I buy a new item of clothing probably once every few months, but if we had access to more money that might change to an outfit.

If I were a Dom I would immediately reduce that cost by $118.43. There would be no nail extensions and definately no smoking...

I'm the dominant and a stay at home mom. It's important to us that I raise our kids, so we do what we have to. We would be doing really well now if we hadn't built up some serious debt when things weren't so good, but we're working our way out of it.

I am excited about the arrangement Master and I are about to be entering into.  I'll be modeling and he'll be managing me.  I give him all my money.  So in a way I'm kept but I'm not bored sitting at home.  He has control over what work I do and when so I don't feel like I am serving two bosses.  We'll be making enough money to live comfortably.  He'll give me an allowance and I need to ask him for more money if I want.  He gets to decide how expensive I am to keep.  Lukily things like hair, nails and clothes are a tax write off for me.

I like this because I feel that we are still both contributing but in a way that enhances our Master/slave dynamic.

If I were still looking, I'd totally write on my profile:

Cost of Clothing: $100
Cost of Gas: $40 a week and rising
Cost of Food: $200
Cost of the occasional videogame: $20-$70
The feeling you get when you tie me down, beat me, and have your way with me:  Priceless

All except food and rent/mortgage, I would class all as luxuries - and all can be worked to much less.
Taking a few simple courses to train yourself to complete some of these tasks make them cheaper.  That way, when you get given them as a gift or treat, they are appriciated.

The income I produce/bring in is not expected to maintain the household, myself nor my children - it is extra which is to be put away.  Darcy took the decision that he would run the household.

For the way I used to budget, £640 would easily maintain a family of 3 adult consuming peoples for a month with a few luxuries thrown in.  I do my own nails and hair.  I don't smoke.  Everything else is luxury and can be maintained to a high standard for less from my POV, so for me, yes the amount is unreasonable.  But then, I am the queen of thrift.  Now, I get an allowance - no more or less.  If I want something or feel something is needed, I go to Darcy and make the suggestion and he decides.

I have issues with debt and so I don't'do' debt.  I won't even own a credit card.

I do pretty well now, but I started off poorish. So my tastes are not exorbitant even though I live comfortably enough. To me living nice means a good house on the water, boat, pool and fun in outdoorsy ways like grilling on the patio instead of eating out often. If a sub I lived with was not working, I would expect her to help me with my career in various ways and things like that, plus live simply as I do. That much money on clothes, etc, would be out of line, if I were paying. Interestingly for me, every submissive I've owned has had a nice job, except one who was rich... and married.

I love spicy country made pork rinds. I once drove out 30 miles to this little town to buy some.

how on earth do people fund others lives? If you are extremely rich or well paid i can see it, but what about those in normal every day jobs who aren't so well off?

Owning slaves is in no way unique in the possibility of one person funding others' lives.  Parents typically support their children, for example, and throughout much of history it has been traditional for husbands to support their wives.  This happens across income levels.  I don't understand why it would be any more difficult to manage in a BDSM relationship than in a spousal or parental one (though there are some specific financially-relevant legal benefits and such for spouses and children that do not exist for slaves, the basic principle is the same).

So for those who do it, how do you support yourself and your subs /slaves?
Would you do it? If so why? If not why not?
Has it ever got you into debt?
Are you in debt because of it?

We make it clear to those who contact us seeking to be a full-time, live-in houseboy that we are not equipped for such an arrangement.

At the risk of offending anyone...  Listing the "prices" next to each other like that makes me want a list of the, um, features of Missturbation and CalifChick, respectively, so that I can make an informed consumer decision.

Wow, I never realized how cheap it would be to have me as a slave. Guys don't need a lot of the presentation costs there, and I already have most of my needed stuff, like computer and television equipment. (yeah, that's a need ).

TheEngineer and i have been talking a lot about this.  see...he's able to afford to not have me work outside the home.  and within the year, plans on marrying me so i'll be on his insurance.

but i do housework and cooking, and can help him keep organized.  i dont expect him to buy a second vehicle for me, and cooking at home is generally cheaper than eating out every night (which he does now).  i can keep his appointments straight, or cancel them when i need to, and pay bills online.  that frees up his time more.

but what he values me most for...is that he wont be lonely any more.  he'll know he has someone who is going to be glad to see him when he comes home, and is eager for his company.  that his home will be a home and not just a place to keep his computer, and sleep.  those things he says he cant put a price on, and keeping me in manicures and pedicures and the occasional haircut (probably less than $30 a month average since i'm letting my hair grow out) is a very small price to pay for him.

if a Mistress were to give me this...plus food...shelter....HDTV big screen for my sports watching...m yours.

faery,
here is the problem - i am not mistress material. Hell, I am not even Alphasub material. Best i can do is ThiaThia - kind of a big sister.
I know you are looking for a Mistress, and that you are not interested in serving a Dom Male.
But you know that i think you are the most gorgeious, hottest woman on CM. (I'm pretty sure you know that...) Master also knows that, since i point out your gorgeous pic to Him OFTEN. I am srrsly crushing on you.
If i promise to give you all those things - HDTV, high speed internet, all the time you want to watch sports, all the high heels you want (I hope you are into heels, since i have to talk Master into my great plan right after i get you to agree....)
will you come here to Little House Land and be my sister? pleasepleaseplease?
