how do you define intelligence though? I mean really? Some people are smart in some areas and dumb in another. Everyone is a superstar in their own field.

You might not be the best at English grammar, but you might be able to build a house. You might not be able to build a house but might be a master chef. I think in all areas, we're going to judge people as un intelligent if their intelligence doesn't resonate in our own. I think even illiterate people have something constructive to offer.

How do we define stupid? Is it lack of common sense? How?

One of my mothers friends is married to a French man. He has only been speaking English about 3 years. I'm quite certain that if he typed something out here on CollarMe his syntax would be wrong. Nevertheless he is intelligent, witty and funny!

Syntax isn't everything -- if the meaning comes across, does it matter?

I can't fuck stupid women, no matter how hot, not matter how nasty they are, if their brains are mush, so is my cock. Now a woman with brains, oh that is another story! A woman who can match wits with me is a HUGE turn on and can overcome a lot of physical "unattractiveness". Just like if someone is mean or inconsiderate of other people, HUGE turn off, however, seeing someone stop to pick up a piece of trash can turn someone from a hot fuck into someone with whom you could spend eternity.

intelligence != knowledge. intelligence + knowledge = smarts. smarts + experience = wisdom.

intelligence is measured on permutations of observations. One must have some knowledge (i.e. learned facts) to make use of intelligence and the opposite is also true.

one metaphor to explain observed intelligence between two people is the viewing of tv commercials on tvs. You can quantify the difference of tvs from the greater one down to the lesser, but not the other way around.

this should answer many of the questions on this thread.

for the original post, ego is a major factor when discussing kink. Without it, there would be no distinction of dom & sub. There would only be hollow tasks. Ego creates emotional currency which is referenced in terms like TPE (total power exchange). This is easy to answer. Of course, "yes". But, this is like snacking on junk food. It satisfies the immediate hunger. The language you've used is different than I might have, but essentially I'm in agreement with you. Oh gee. I'd better fess up. For ME, intelligence and stupidity are measured by IQ, not knowledge. Also, common sense. IQ and common sense means a person can learn. They simply may have not attended college, or had the opportunity to learn. I would rather be with someone that has little formal education but is intelligent than an over educated idiot. The latter I see all the time.
