Greetings,

There will always be many answers on this one and a lot of arguing, lol! So all I will attempt to do is to list what I look for in any one I would consider as dominant to me:

honor
integrity
purposefulness
leadership
personal strength of character
morality
honesty
responsibility

There are probably some I've missed, but those are a few of the biggies for me.

i think a "true dom" is different for everyone..."true" to me is different than to someone else...it is the person who i give my soul to, who cherishes that gift and who i know would never shit on it....

for me, i had one who i considered at one time in my life my "true dom", he is the one that when i heard is voice my soul ached to be with him, when i felt his touch my body melted that i was with him and he was my everything...notice there is a was...i wont settle for someone that lies no matter how much i think they are the true one for me...that is "true" for me...

Seriously a Dom is true if he makes you happy and you work well together, everybodies idea of D/s is different and quite often if someone disagrees with how you live then you get branded a fake or a freak

Many D/s relationships don't work out because we don't know our own expectations of the other person. It's important that we know ourselves and what it is we want from our relationship with another be it vanilla or D/s.

Personally i would take the "fake" Dominant over the "true" if One has to "try" at being a Dominant that He isn't a "true" Dominant. Truly a "true" Dominant is secure in His own self being and knows what He wants and how to get it. i have been on this site for a while now and have heard all kinds of b/s in email. But i have also met some amzing Dominants here that are truer than true and stand out above all Others. If a Dominant demands that you capitalize the Y and always call Him Sir after every sentence then it is more than likely a power trip for Him.
