Now that the hoodie is DONE (made the hood bigger, thank heavens) fits, and is ready for Cooler Weather, I need another distraction from what I should be doing... so I just hauled up that bag of granny squares. I don't know WHY I thought I only had a few of the things, I have 176 3 x 3 squares! My problem is, I do not want to just sew them together, I want to do something ELSE, like a chain stitch deal and have little motifs in the middle of the sets of squares. Because I cannot do anything the easy way, ever. I have looked on the internets... and I stopped doing that. Can anyone recommend a good granny square book? I have the picture in my head of what I want, I only need the HOW part. And some black Vanna's Choice. Yes, I should just go to Joann and look at what they have, but I am trying to avoid that. ETA: Ravelry. Has like over 14K hits for "granny square". 26 pgs in and nothing like what I want to do. The thing is, whoever made these squares (they are from an estate sale) crocheted them very firmly so there is no drape. I need to make a connection that is just as firm, so will be using a smaller hook than normal, but I don't want it to be all wacky and hard to handle when it's done. Maybe I should ponder other options. Pondering is good.
