McCain is already running ads showing Biden saying Obama isn't ready, and showing Biden saying he'd be proud to run with McCain.

And, of course, we'll see plenty of reminders of how easily Biden's foot fits in his mouth:

In June 2006, C-SPAN caught him speaking to an Indian-American man, saying: "In Delaware, the largest growth in population is Indian-Americans moving from India. You cannot go to a 7-11 or a Dunkin Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent. I'm not joking." (You can see the Youtube video of that here.)

Last November at a Rotary Club meeting in Columbia, S.C., Biden joked about the state's Confederate history, saying that his home state of Delaware was "a slave state that fought beside the North." He added, "that's only because we couldn't figure out how to get to the South, there were a couple of other states in the way."

In context he meant the first one that was a viable candidate running for the office of Potus. Unless of course jesse Jackson counts as viable. Besides, isn't it really up to Obama to decide if the comment was offensive? Oh he doesn't obviously, since he has honored him with the VP nod. I love it, Biden is a firecracker and will liven up this yawnfest of grampa McCain and carefully worded Obama. Go Joe!

He is sharp, experienced, and a man of the people. Now the neo-cons are gonna pull the washington insider crap, wait and see. Obama has not enough experience and now the cry will be Biden has too much and is too much of a washington insider. God the predicability....

Biden cannot give a straight answer to a straight question. He is the quintessential politician's politician. I saw several interviews he did while he was still a candidate where he derided Obama's lack of experience. Hillary Clinton would actually have been a smarter choice of Obama.

Actually, the battle cry is more likely to be that Biden says Obama does not have enough experience, and that McCain does. Backed up with a nearly infinite supply of Biden sound bites attacking Obama's lack of resume.

General ...

I like this choice. Senator Biden has a lot of experience working with members of both parties. I think he brings a different experience set to the table. By making this choice, it's clear that Senator Obama was not looking for a yes-man, but someone who has something to contribute. The two men differ on many issues. I think that's healthy, as opposed to having a White House more interested in a lock-step presentation of policy.

Funny how much of what Joe Biden is, is what Obama criticized his opponents for being during the nomination process. I, for one, am one disgruntled democrat & won't be voting their ticket.
