Gods I wish I could not be over 18 this year, what happened to easy elections.

Im sick of all the bullshit, All I know is no matter who wins and who looses theres going to chaos in the country about it. People will say If Obama wins/looses he only one because of his race and demand a recount and if McCain wins/looses it will have to be a recount because he only won/lost because  his vps a woman.

Why cant it not matter about race, experience, gender and just be about whos better for the job. Can Obama lead? I dont know, Can McCain? I dont know...

Why not give each a trail run of high pressure situations, (much like bootcamp OH bootcamp for presidents) and whoever shows they not only have the balls to make the moves that need to be done, but the smarts to not rule simply by the balls, gets to be president.

I wonder how many people this year will write in a vote, or simply not vote. And TELL ME WHY oh why is it so dang hard to get information about the canidates as well as the vps, 2 hours of clickin on websites, and Im still as square one more confused then before...

I also wonder when the hell were going to get out of high school, It reeks of Im more popular then you, Im better then you Im the jock, Im better then you Im a nerd, Im better then you I burned my bra... -sighs- and they said highschool was only 4 years long....

8 years of Bush beating the American people into submission, and we still can stand and wade through all the bullshit!  ...sounds like the prison technique (lots of experience from Guantanamo Bay, I'm sure) they use to make prisoners comply.  Republicans, gotta love em...

Cuz this is America, and people justify stupidity by using History as an excuse not to get over it.

In a race based on Merit?   ...McCain would probably keel over from a heart attack..  Well, that could be good thing, cuz it'll save him from dragging out his loss over the next two months and give Obama a headstart in planning the reconstruction of a destroyed and trashed America.

Here's the 5 minute Joe Biden autobiographical video (plus lots more when the video finishes, you tube style): http://my.barackobama.com/page/invite/bidendtc   I was trying to search too and got nothing.  I only got this after making a donation and his e-mailing me back.

I think our future is too important to leave in someone else's hands.  In other countries, you have to risk getting shot, or suicide bombers to get to voting booths.  Here, you just gotta deal with the stupidity that is Republican politics, before getting to the voting booths.  I really don't know which one is worse...  *grin*

a female conservative republican is still a republican.

Especially one with the extreme right views that I've read she has. Ohhhh, just one lil ole hot button issue like........abortion.

I don't know one feminist that doesn't have strong feelings about that one. I would bet dollars to donuts most of the Hillary supports are feminists.

....should those Americans who value education and science also be a bit worried by Mrs Palin as a VP?

"I don't think there should be a prohibition against debate if it comes up in class. It doesn't have to be part of the curriculum."

She added that, if elected, she would not push the state Board of Education to add such creation-based alternatives to the state's required curriculum.

Members of the state school board, which sets minimum requirements, are appointed by the governor and confirmed by the Legislature.

"I won't have religion as a litmus test, or anybody's personal opinion on evolution or creationism," Palin said.

Could be she's just talking out her ass, but that sounds reasonable to me.

Hey....if they want to talk about creation science in schools....fine. But it will be put under the same kind of scientific scrutiny as every other theory of life, universe, and creation.

The idea of a war between science and religion is stupid. Most scientists are religious. Darwin was a christian. The big bang theory was first talked about by a dutch catholic priest who had a facination with astronomy. Science should be embraced by religion and religion should embrace science. Because science is not out to disprove the existance of god. The purpose of science is to discover truth and understanding.

holy crap, as far as Palin as a VP choice in this desperate campaign from the Republicans who want to keep their wallets padded, let the personal idealogies of those be.  I couldn't care less about what someone believes, rather what he will do in office for this great country of the best and the brightest.  Oh well, Obama tried  lol

......the part you quoted does seem reasonable Level.......what rang my personal alarm bell was the stance her party takes....
"The Republican Party of Alaska platform says, in its section on education: "We support giving Creation Science equal representation with other theories of the origin of life. If evolution is taught, it should be presented as only a theory.""
Now, in my opinion, creationism isn't a scientific theory. It's basically a dressed up way of saying "oooh, things are really complicated, that can't have happened by chance". As such it does have a place in schools, just not in science class. It's a perfectly reasonable subject for sociology, theology or philosophy. However, the notion that it's on a par with the theory of evolution and, by extension, the theory of relativity or the theory of gravity is bogus. As the elected representative of her party i'd like to know, specifically, her stance on this matter. Does she agree with her party or disagree with that position? It's a perfectly legitimate question that can be answered simply.

And so suddenly feminist voters choose to vote for a man who has long promised to overturn a woman's right to choose? And who so clearly--after harping on Obama's quick rise (like talent is bad), chose a woman with even LESS experience for VP?

McCain clearly thinks women are gullible.

How does Palin have less experience that Obama?

Looking at her resume she has more. She's run in more elections, dealt with more budgets, made more executive decisions than Obama.

I just think it would be funny to see a female politician embroiled in a hot sex scandal!!

She looks like she could do the whole "naughty librarian with a ruler" thing really well.

Well, if you smoke cuban cigars your "experience" certainly will raise a few eyebrows--some in shock, others in awe.

I am very serious. Will you answer the question? How does Palin have LESS experience than Obama? Please answer with specifics.

A pollster on TV put it into football terms.....
Team Obama spent 4 days scoring a touchdown on the opening drive of the game. And then Team McCain just ran back the kickoff to tie it up again and regain momentum. He said it is a great strategic move for McCain who has successfuly knocked Obama's speech and the DNC convention off the news.

Used to be the parties respected each other's conventions.

Well, McCain has trashed that, just as he's trashed all the other positions I used to respect him for a decade ago just to walk in lock-step with the Neo-Cons of the Nixon administration. And duh, ya think the Obama campaign will return the favor next week?

He's determined to cut his own throat. With all that "experience," you'd think he could run on something other than focusing on Obama.

Cheney has experience. Rumsfield had experience. McCain managed to get shot down and sit in Congress while accomplishing nothing much more than objecting. And where has all this experience landed us? In several ill-conceived foreign policy issues and a severely damaged economy.

I've experienced enough of that shit. I'll be voting for Obama.
