Sesilia, as a former cop you seem to be drawing some harsh conclusions regarding this trooper.Have you heard his side of the story,or are you just accepting as fact all that he is accused of.It seems to me someone could have made the Gov.of Alaska very happy if they could have found legitimate reasons to fire this man....that has not happened....

And you are still running away from the question as to why a labor union would commit or cover up such criminal actions for a Republican who wasn't even Governor at the time?
Seems like you fell into your usual ad homs about the time that the link to the union saying that the trooper was treated fairly was brought up.  Or did you start them after if was pointed out that saying the trooper had already been fired was a false hood?

..

Al,you keep going back to this well. Here's a hint once someone admits to an error and congradulates you on catching it...there is really no more hay to be made.....but you keep going Al,it is interesting to see your post's and if it makes you happy I will once again admit to getting the part about his job wrong. Now of course the heart and soul of my post was about an investigation into abuse of power....was I wrong,is there not an investigation going on....whenever your done with this bone AL feel free to just drop it and move on,I know I have.

I keep going?... you might want to scroll up to post # 78 and read the name attached there...

This tired old tactic of bringing up falsehoods and spin as facts and running away when proven wrong, only to bring them up again isn't made more honest by refusing to answer questions while accusing others of things they never posted ( just as it isn't honest when practiced by the Obama bashers).  But if that's what you've got to bring to the table, go for it.

Thanks for beating me to it Thadius :)

slvemike4u, I try to make it a point to avoid the bullshit that gets tossed around and wont comment on something I lack knowledge in...

The internal personnel investigation began in April 2005, long before Palin became governor and months before her October 2005 announcement that she was running. The investigation into [former trooper Michael] Wooten wrapped up in March 2006.
Troopers found four instances in which Wooten violated policy, broke the law, or both:
- Wooten used a Taser on his stepson
- He shot a moose without a permit, which is illegal. At the time he was married to McCann, who has a permit but never intended to shoot it herself.
- He drank beer in his patrol car on one occasion.
- He told others that his father-in-law - Palin's father, Chuck Heath - would "eat a f'ing lead bullet" if he helped his daughter get an attorney for the divorce.

Remember when Bush nominated Harriet Miers to the Supreme Court?

Frankly, though, I'm not with the CAMP who values experience above all else. To me, youth, energy, new ideas, and promise have much going for it. I'm interested to see what Palin's got.

BTW what happened to the blue wall ,is that just for the lower 48?

slvemike4u *grin* the blue wall, I survived my career and can now luxuriate in my retirement if I so choose. The blue wall isn't always in play, sometimes it stays up because some other schmuck is also in deep with the accused and keeps his mouth shut because he also will go down. Sometimes the blue wall stays up because someone has a hardon for an officer and the others in blue will protect that person. I guess it depends on the situation.

I bet you've never read Das Kapital, if so, pray tell me why unthinking conservative morals, a belief ancient writings as being sacred is somehow better than a philosophical treatise which is rightfully classed as a masterpiece?

I have read Das Kapital, in fact.

Masterpiece?  Of flawed historical analysis, maybe.  Otherwise mostly mush.

If you have read it, you will be able to tell me its flaws. The fact you call it mush tells me if you have read it, you haven't understood it because even rightwing economic thinkers understand its relevance and insight.

BTW why should I answer this question, other than getting wrong that the trooper was fired all I said in my post was that the Gov. was under investigation....did I say she was guilty...NO ,I said she was under the cloud of an investigation and questioned why McCain would choose her....I have no apologies other than the one I have made about the troopers job status...and now I shall "run away" again before big bad AL comes and kicks sand in my face....

As I said in an earlier post he sounds like a peach of a guy,but apparently whatever was provable was not enough to remove him from his job....and at this point given the fact we are talking about him....I will assume his ex sis-in-law running for V.P. has not been the best thing that ever happened to him...He has retained his job despite an angry ex sister in law as Gov.

Palin is under investigation for the firing of the Commisioner of Public Safety regarding this affair....

The most important thing the Palin selection says about McCain:

He plays to win.

Yep. A gamble, just like I said. Fun at the casino; dangerous for the nation.

And Mr No experience Obama isn't a gamble? Where do you play Texas Holdem at again?

'Source of amusment...'

And there you have it... your refusing to answer the question while claiming to not be running away... repeatedly bringing up debunked gossip and faking strawmen, gloating over natural disasters and professing deep concern, trotting out  'back of the bus' references when someone disagrees with you... these are all just 'amusement' to you...

Got  it.   Well, while you are being so easily amused by being disingenuous and intolerant, for some of us, these things have a little more relevance.

Spot on Celeste and thank you for the additional links.

In addition to the factors you list I would add: education, experience, seniority, length of time working (1 month to 6), and whether an individual worked on an ongoing basis or just for one or two special projects.

You haven't take into account (nor did the article) the number of hours/days worked by individuals, any bonus or other compensation, job description or any of the other criteria which would clearly indicate a discriminatory pay scale. They simply compiled data from a site and presented it. I present that same data to anyone who cares to do their own homework. Good luck since you aren't going to get any further indication of what went into the salaries of these folks which will prove or disprove anything other than.. what salaries they were paid in a given time frame. For those who check, you'll note several people with salaries in the 2 - 3K range for both candidates but without knowing the source, time, hours worked, job descriptions etc, they mean basically, zilch.

(Mike... there are reasons for some people's deliberate adversarial attitude, which are best left unadressed. Please, please, please: don't fall in the trap. Block 'em, my dear.  :-)
