long story... i was married to my late husband. He was about a mile down the road helping a neighbor plow his field. There was a knock on the door and a cop was standing there, an ambulance in the road behind him. He said there was a tractor accident involving my husband and they wanted a list of his medications. Tractor accidents are serious and generally fatal around here. The only thing i could think of was i HAD to get into that ambulance so i tried going around the cop. Every time i tried he would block me and repeat his request. Finally i shoved him out of my way and ran to the ambulance. The poor cop back peddled and fell off the porch...directly into a rain puddle. Hubby was battered but ok so i told the EMT's i had a list in the car and would follow them to the hospital. Halfway there the ambulance puts on the red lights (his blood pressure was dropping and he was starting to shock) and they flipped it to fly...with me right on their bumper in a stone cold panic. I noticed Officer SoggyBottom was right behind me and thought it was so sweet of him to be giving us an escort. Boy...was i wrong. We got to the hospital and i pulled into the ambulance bay and ran to the entrance. One of the EMTs grabbed me and told me to get into the exam room and not to come back out. It seems the poor cop was rather pissed off for the assult and not really happy that i caused a high speed chase (over 90mph) down a busy interstate. Once it was established that my husband was ok i went out to talk to the STILL pissed off cop. The cuffs were slapped on and i was in the back of his car. Then his boss (a dude with strips on his shirt) showed up and talked to the cop. I was released without so much as a speeding ticket. I did tell the poor cop i would pay for his torn, wet pants but never heard from him.

i am not sure what had him the maddest...being knocked on his butt by me (he was about 6'4...biiiig boy) or the fact that he couldn't catch me on the interstate. I was actually thinking if he wanted to give us a police escort he really needed to catch up.

prob knocked on his butt first, then having to get in his car with a wet butt, then possibly having to drive around with said wet butt for a while and everybody poking fun at him, and then getting in trouble for having a wet seat in the car! bit of a domino affect around you, holly!

Ha! I did a little assault & battery on a cop too. I was living at my Dad's & he had one of his crew members (they were roofers) living in the house too. Well, naturally we started to date and of course he was a drinker [8\|] (I sure can pick 'em). One night things got REALLY ugly & I had to call the cops. He split before the cops got there, I locked up all the doors/windows and he didn't have his key. He came home later that night banging on the door. I called the cops. I opened the door when they arrived/he was on the front steps w/them. They very politely told me that I could not refuse him admittance to the house because it wasn't my house and they couldn't arrest him since no crime was committed. I was DETERMINED not to let him in so when the officer repeated that he couldn't refuse him admittance to the house, I in turn politely said, "But I can" & I shoved the bf right into the cops and they all went stumbling to the side of the steps. Needless to say I slammed the door shut/locked it again :) **The cops told me if he comes back to call them (this was over the phone when I called to complain). The bf called later that night saying, "Oh baby, I'm so sorry". I said, "Me too! Hurry home"...............then I called the cops. He walked right into the trap :) Spent the weekend in jail :)
