McCain was on the verge of losing his temper all night long. Not looking at someone when they speak is a well known tactic taught in anger management classes to keep your emotions in check. Then when Obama listed all the various wrong statements McCain made about Iraq McCain's response was through a tightly controlled jaw and he lost all facial movement above his lips. Pretty clear indications that he was on the verge of losing it right there. Not the sort of emotional stability I want in a man with control of nukes and power over people's lives. I would assume that Obama's staff saw precisely what I saw and the next two debates will include Obama pushing McCain hard so as to let us all see McCain's infamous temper. McCain will go down as having lost the campaign when he does lose it on national TV in a few weeks but his shot really ended when he almost lost control during this debate. It's really too bad since its likely his anger issues are PTSD and he, as do so many of our brothers in arms, needs good treatment for what his service did to his mind as well as his body.

Wishful thinking, Ken (though I'll give you McC's history of raising his voice). And much could be made of Obama's facial expressions throughout tonight's event as well. It looked like he was ready to snap a little, a few times. We don't really know his history with that, do we?

I would much prefer if McCain was healthy mentally and physically and this election was determined by ideas not other issues but the simple fact is that it has long been suspected that he has PTSD and if he loses his temper as easily as he did tonight many people will take that as an indication that he is unfit to be president.

You're assuming facts not in evidence, Ken. When did McCain lose his temper? You started out only by saying he looked like he was about to. I was watching. Obama looked annoyed more often than McC, and my impression is that John would better utilize the angry outburst. edit to adjust a word choice

When Obama kept trying to interrupt McCain out of turn, McCain just kept saying his piece with a strong, even tempo without so much as the slightest flinch, and I though Obama came off as childish while McCain looked like the adult.

However, your statement does illustrate my problem with voting for Sen. Obama. I see him as all image - very little experience on the foreign stage, or even in the domestic arena. Ron McCapital's biggest and most dishonorable flip-flop of this campaign and maybe of his life. First acting as if and sucking up every bit of occupying the high moral mantel of being against torture even saying it was unAmerican. Then flips when he signs off and Pat II allowing only but still the CIA to do just that.

Really MzMia? The worse shape in 75 years? We aren't in our finest hour, granted. But again, the worst in 75 years? We do not have riots in the streets like we did in the 60's. We are not facing a nuclear war with a military superpower. We have a significantly lower crime rate than we did 15, 20, or even 30 years ago (check the FBI uniform crime reports if you don't believe me.) We aren't doing that bad. We aren't going into another Great Depression, I promise you. As far as wars go, the one we are in is pretty mild to the others we fought. Brighten up a little.
