I suppose I've been fetishized and objectified as a domme by every guy who has ever sent an email to my profile on this site, without actually reading said profile. (It's either the photograph or the red name that brings those guys out--sometimes it's obviously the red name.) More often I'm objectified in real life, face to face, just as a woman old enough to be a sexual target--or rejected as a sexual target. Men who look at me with a sneer and call me "fat" names are objectifying every bit as much as the ones who look at me and say "I'd hit that". They're just objectifying me in a less affirming, even-more-demeaning way. *shrug* All women deal with objectification, positive and negative. There is a prevailing ideology in this society that a woman's worth as a human being should be measured solely in terms of how sexually pleasing or attractive she is to men. Women are effectively objects by this measure, tools for the attainment of pleasure--it makes not one lick of difference what sort of fantasy the man has, whether it's male submissive, straight-up vanilla sex, or sexually sadistic murder a la Ted Bundy. Dommes are no different from other women in this regard. Personally, I don't worry about all the objectification. I concentrate less on feeling victimized by the world and more on enjoying the objectification of men every chance I get. 'Cause I'm a voyeur, and it's fun.
