Greetings, I see in many ads statements like "fakes and wannabes stay out"... Are there people who pretend to be dominant and are not? Why should they do so? Maybe someone can enlighten this subject [8\|]

People use the word 'fake' out of frustration more often than not. It's a phenomenon that has grown in recent years but I really would not put much stock in it. Fake and wannabe is simply a description of a person who doesn't fit the criteria of another for what a domninant or a submissive is. It can be an emotional outburst response from a person who makes bad judgement calls and needs someone else to blame. Its a way of demonstrating superiority. It's a myth. Of course, in any section of society you get people who lie and cheat. But those aren't really the core of what is meant by fakes and wannabee. They are simply another persons somebody. Yup I dont like the word fake, there are actually very few 'fakes' out there, I describe a fake as a man pretending to be a woman or a scam or something along those lines. Normally as the.darkness says a fake is someone who isnt compatible to what you want. people decide their way is the only way and anyone not fitting that is fake, what it fails to realise is that everyones way is right for them.

I'm a fake Dom. I've got no pic on my profile, I don't own a flogger, I'm not known in any local scene, and I've first-met (and then played) with women at my home, and in hotel rooms. Beware the fake doms. We're coming to get you.

They could also be talking about that folks that just want to play with themselves while taking to you and then disappear without reason. They normally know enough of the "right" things to say just to get their rocks off and waste your time. Mike

There is also a not so slim section of predatory individuals, both dom and sub. A lot of things can be meant by it, but at the end of the day capatability and choices are more important that self imposed titles. lovingpet

a real Dom is no real Dom when he was never been called fake. It ads to his status..his meanness.... more seriously; I think fake is used to make yourself look better then the other or people using others while promissing a lot of things. But that happens in the vanilla world too...but that is already said.

I think a lot of this is about someone who is hurting and wants to out the ex. What better way if one is feeling vindictive/revengeful than to point a finger and say that they are a fake. What works for one may not work for another. I have been out and about on the scene for perhaps too long and I do know that there are predatory people that wear the wolves clothing to get into a girls knickers but I also know of women that wear the coat of a lamb to get in a mans trousers.

well fake dom=man pretending to be woman. but there are subs who do that too. fake profiles often have model pictures taken from sites....i have seen snorg t's model girls used alot on cm.

Fake usually means it does not fit their criteria for a sub, slave, ect. It can also mean someone pretending to be a different sex. I knew a guy who pretended to be a lesbian, online, for a few years. It might also be someone who is masturbating while getting you to talk about sex. And it might mean that they do not do this 24/7, every waking moment, always sub, or always dom. I'll take that last catagory over the real true ones any day. Kyst

As others have said many use "fake" and "wannabe" directed towards people who are not like them, or do not conform to an accepted practise or dogma just how people are ... I try not to use those words myself ... though sometimes I fail in that.

this slave has pretended to be dominant in the past...in order to please the other person(s) in the relationship as well as when training dogs. the other person(s) didn't respond well to the faking, it pleased them at the time, but not in the long run...as this slave pretty much sucks at it, but the dogs bought it, hook, line and sinker![:)]

OOkkayy [&:] Thats alot of answers. Thanks. Well the fakes from Nigeria or Romania with model picture I dont even count they are just poor scams. And I agree, it is difficult to find out if the other is what he/she describes. Normally chat helps and if some1s ad sounds "too good to be true" (like 18 year old supermodel seeks extreme 247 right away, any age, any place [:-]), it certainly is not real.
