I prefer to be topped by men older than myself- part of that is that I've had WONDERFUL experiences at the hands of older men- even out of the lifestyle, I prefer my men to be older, and yes, even old enough to be my father. Part of why I like older men is that I am only 25. Going much younger gets illegal. Men my age tend to be (not all, just most that I've met) immature. People my age (men and women) don't tend to have a whole lot of experience in the lifestyle, either. I've been in the lifestyle for 7 years now... I want someone who has at least that much, or more experience than I do. shrug

By all means, that doesn't mean that you can't have a D/s relationship until you reach some certain age but when you (not you personally but the average 22 year old) are either still in school or just graduating, barely making enough money to support yourself, possibly still dependant on your parents, freaking out because you can't get a job with your expensive degree, and all the rest of the stuff that comes along with the early 20s, you're not exactly the ideal dominant role model. Whereas someone who has his/her life completely in order and has been around the block several more times can appear to be the better candidate for a master. Again, not saying that's correct (there are assholes and idiots of all ages) but it sure helps them, and sometimes they actually do have their shit together more than we do, I'll give them that...sometimes. ;)

If older men have more desirable charactertistics, then younger ones often display less desirable ones. Such as Dog Humping Leg syndrome. I am quite sure that many people on these forums have seen men(Of all ages, through mostly I see younger lads do it. No clue if that's true overall or not. I am also sure women do it too) that desperately try to gain the attention, and advances, of any woman(Occasionally men too) of the correct orientation. And sometimes the wrong one as well. They message tons of people, regardless of profile, and expect results IMMEDIATELY. And then whine when it doesn't happen. And keep throwing themselves at anyone, anytime. They act like oversexed little dogs with little grip on reality that needs to get laid/play RIGHT NOW or they'll hump the furinture as well. They come off as "OhgodlovemeWhyaren'tyoupayingattentiontomeLovemeLovemeLovePleasePleasePlease" And I love the real comments. Oh noes! No one is interested in you! We must all be...Androids or something. Or online fakers. And then some of the men display ANGRY Dog Humping Leg syndrome. Well. Those legs didn't want YOU to hump their legs. 'Tis for a good reason. It takes a long time and years of practice to reach such depths of depravity, hence by default, we become 'dirty old men'. Older doms usually have more experience and patience. Since I am an older dom, I'm a little biased. The problem I have with younger subs is "cultural". I have little desire to "hang" with their friends who are usually 20-25 years younger. This has been a problem for me, but if it I limit the relationship to the dungeon, motel room and/or BDSM night at a nightclub, it's wonderful!

My partner is 17 years older than me... which is almost double my age... Its just what works. I understand your frustration... and I know it sucks... but older men are typically just so much more mature than younger guys... and though its not gaurenteed that someone of a younger age is inexperienced, its also very obvious that the 20-25 year old men don't have the 20 years of experience that a 40 year old Dom is capable of having... And though that experience doesn't necessarily make them better... its attractive to some... especially those younger girls (i would think) who are new to the scene themselves... and want someone who can help them learn, instead of someome who is learning along with them...
