I have never seen someone so full of hate.  It makes me sorry for you.

Irishknight -> RE: Racism = Treating Obama the exact same way Bush is treated? (10/26/2008 6:35:46 AM)

Just because someone chooses to vote for McCain over Obama does not make them a racist.  Thats soooo not fair.  There are people who will never vote across party lines no matter who is running.  They would vote for Charlie Manson over Mother Theresa because of party.  Those people are known as "reality challenged."  I'm not accusing all McCain voters of being that way nor all Obama voters from not being that way.  Just pointing out that idiots abound in this world.

Just because someone wants to call a black man a monkey, ummm .... we might have a different story there.  I watched a video on the Curious George shirts being sold and I was thoroghly convinced that the man who started it was nothing but a racist.  If you give money to a racist for taking part in a racist activity, guess what.  You are a racist.  I believe that there are a lot of things people in this world just need to get the fuck over.  Overt racism is not.  Would it have been OK for them to use Bambi's picture and call him a "buck?"  How about shirts that said, "This is the nigger for the job?"  The monkey thing is just as tasteless.

If you want to make fun of his ears, put him on the cover of MAD Magazine as Obama E Newman or something.  That might be tasteless but it sure isn't racist.

Aynne88 -> RE: Racism = Treating Obama the exact same way Bush is treated? (10/26/2008 6:51:44 AM)

Awww...hugs. Seriously stick around, post more. Maybe the state of the country, dead young men and women, a ruinous war and idiots voting that have no clue of policy or even a persons religion don't irritate, but if I am the most hate filled person you have ever seen, you need to get out more. My life is wonderful. I am in love, happy, loved in retun and basicaly a joyous person. Talk politics and talk stupidity? Brings out my passionate side, the dark one.  If you don't care as much, hey, finest kind, but you don't know me.

Oh, and calling a black man a monkey? Yeah, makes me a wee bit cranky. After listening to lie after lie about the scary black muslim, and this endless political year, some people are more passionate than others. Dont worry, my passions are equally divided. What I love I love and what I despise, well....you just witnessed it.

As a degreed New England liberal in a relationship with a non-white, yay you for calling me a racist, you go!

       There is more than one kind of racism, Aynn.  There is the hateful, mean, brand, which label seems to get applied to those who oppose Obama, regardless of how they came to that view, and then there is the other face.  The racism of supporting special preferences, and the entitlement, victimhood, mentality (extra points on college applications, for instance.  I've never heard it questioned in this campaign if Obama could have gotten into those elite schools without an extra box to check on the ap.)  The racism of believing skin pigmentation is an excuse for failure, and lowered standards.  The deep and hurtful racism of believing some other group just isn't good enough to succeed without help.

        To suggest that the normal values people apply in making their election day decision need to be altered because Barack is black, is extremely racist.  So is an assumption that it plays any role at all with how another decides.

Aynne88 -> RE: Racism = Treating Obama the exact same way Bush is treated? (10/26/2008 7:00:53 AM)

Heretic,

Merely responding to Elisabella's calling kittin and myself racists becasue we ojected to her depiciton of Obama as looking like a big eared money. I am all too aware of racism in it's multitude of insidious forms, the worst being the disguised kind. "oh not me, I have a black friend" [8|]

Enough of this for the morning, sleepyparachute is worried about my anger issues, I am certain that was meant with true care and not one bit of passive aggressive backhandedness becasue we most likely disagree, so I need  to hug a kitten or paint a unicorn or something.

Did I mention that Bill Maher's style of sardonic cutting biting commentary is to me the ultimate form of expression? Maybe now sleepy will be okay, and I won't really have to paint that unicorn afterall. [;)]

I've not seen much evidence of that but I am far removed I suppose. I've only heard Obama and co reference this fact a couple of times. Compared to the Republican's some of which have put across false information such as him being a Muslim, and as Colin Powell said, "He isn't but so what if he was?"

Could and did-- he didn't check the box.  And you don't get to be editor of the Harvard Law Review through affirmative action.

Unh, a "non-white"? That's it? In your world there's just whites and  ...everybody else, whatever, eh?

Some of you "non-racist" types are really quite droll.

That rag is not fit to utilize for toilet paper, perhaps the ultimate left wing publication in print today.

Here`s a good article on this subject.

Warning:only those seeking knowledge and answers should read it.

Those just looking for a fight,don`t bother.

Like I said,the article was for folks looking for answers,not a fight.

Wow if we could dismiss Fox,Rush(and the rest) and the con-papers like that,we would have zero things to discuss with cons.

How about sticking to the points and info in the piece. Ignorance isn`t the way forward.

And who are those who label opponents of Barack as racists,regardless?

Name them.

Here or in the real world.

Lying is another form of hate.Hate for the truth.

You would vote for Colin Powell? Well Elisabella you might want to know he endorses Obama too.

Powell endorsed Obama, and it was totally about race, Race, RACE. Limbaugh: a wart on America's asshole. This clip is dedicated to the colour blind people [>:] .

When you portray a white man as a chimp, everyone knows you portray him as a fool and an idiot. When you portray a black man as a chimp, everyone knows you portray him as being left behind by evolution and hence, not fully human.

While I don't actively keep a running tally... this may be the most asinine comment I have seen in this entire political season.

Sanity -> RE: Racism = Treating Obama the exact same way Bush is treated? (10/26/2008 8:32:27 AM)

Maybe it was about race. God knows that Obama doesn't have any qualifications!

Owner59 -> RE: Racism = Treating Obama the exact same way Bush is treated? (10/26/2008 8:33:29 AM)

"this may be the most asinine comment I have seen in this entire political season."

Then you can explain how portraying Bush as a chimp, is racist.

And I never heard anyone anywhere,even cons,describe Obama as being un-intelligent,ever.

So then you can explain what folks are getting at when they compare Omaba to a monkey,if it isn`t a comment about his smarts.

<waits with interest for the answer>

If it were only about qualifications,it could be said that Bush is more qualified,having 8 years as POTUS.But we all know how deadly ridiculous that statement would be.

It isn`t just about qualifications.

It`s about intelligence,competence and temperment.

Things McPalin lacks.

Noo noo no,Sanity has a point.

For some,it is about race.

The cons can`t complete in the arena of ideas,so what`s left?

~~~~~~~~
And to be fair,not all the cons smearing Obama as a terrorist or Muslim/Arab/radical,or "not one of us",or a Socialist/Communist,......are bigots.
Some of them are just racially un-biased despicable/vile people.[8D]
Distinctions among slim-ballers is always important.[:D]
