I'm not sure I'd call someone level-headed who gave out a phone number in a first contact email... I'd call that stupid myself and would have turned around and not looked back at her.
...

Not saying she was either very smart or very reasonable, but you can get an anonymous throw-away cell phone at Walmart for about $20.  Some people just have to hear the voice, to know if can make them feel submissive so they want to go farther.  I wouldn't jump to conclusions over her wanting immediate audio input rather than a string of emails or IMs.

I agree with all the rest of what you said, though

Gosh, I am glad you approve, as for what I do in my spare time, so long as it is within the confines of the law it's neither my employer's business or the IRS's. I am much more relieved that you feel the need to comment on it, especially with bold letters.

Since you really felt the need for attention, there you are, I just gave it to you. And that's all I am going to give you. I am not get in a word mincing argument with you, about shoes, or anything else. I have a life that does not involve sitting online and word fencing. >>You<< as well as other "toilet mouths on a Mexican night", just don't get it.....

Now, I am done with you...

I'm sure that's a comforting thought to your employer.... or the IRS.

Well now, your newest version with the "so long as it is within the confines of the law" is a bit closer to reality, but it's not quite there.  Both renditions are the kind of rhetoric that makes for good sound bites, but aren't very representative of the realities of life.  It's just not possible for you, or anyone, to live in such a glorious world that you don't have to put up with anything you don't like.  It's just not a matter of choice, and it's certainly not a choice exclusively afforded to Dominants.

I'm sure you don't like the responses here, for instance.  In fact, I'm sure of that.  You can't possibly like the customer service at your cable or satellite provider (no one does).  You're 39 years old, so it's probable that you don't (or won't) like your annual prostate exam (or perhaps you will... I don't know your proclivities).  You probably don't like folks driving slowly in the left hand lane.

See, the fact is that there's plenty in life that we don't like, and from which we do not receive a "free pass" simply because we are Dominant.

You start a whiney public post to which I reply, and I'm the one seeking attention?  Sorry dude, you're barking up the wrong tree.

That remains to be seen.  But thanks for the good intentions.

All we have in these forums is the written word, so don't blame us if we take you at your word.  This is your first thread here, and if you believe you've been misunderstood you may learn to express yourself in such a way as to be understood more clearly in the future.  If you are misunderstood by so many, it's just not credible to blame it on everyone else.  You might want to take some responsibility for it yourself.  You are a Dominant, right?

Unfortunately for you, this thread will live on until the rest of us are done with you.  You can only make one first impression.  For someone who seems to care so much about what others think of you, I sense no appreciation for how Leather folk interact with one another, which makes your "bull in a china shop" sort of entry so very curious.  You evidently expected that your thread would generate some level of empathy and agreement (how better to ingratiate yourself to a new group?), so I can imagine your surprise and frustration when that was not the case.

The interesting questions are; why you would have that expectation in the first place?  And where have you socialized with other Leather folk to have expected anything more than what you received?

I will not quake in my boots for the "sub squad" coming to bash me, or their "protectors" coming to their support.

The beauty of this country, freedom of speech, allows me to believe in what I want, and say what I want, and the beauty of being a Dominant is not having to put up with anything I don't like.

I am making an observation, about manners and the lack of extending respect. I am making an observation of "setting rules", or "making demands" of not just someone that an alleged submissive does not know, but an alleged Dominant they do not know.

Let me flip this for you:

If I am a Dominant, should I obediently comply with the demands of some "alleged" unknown sub, just as a dominant in this thread was told to on her first email to me?

Firstly it isn't a sub squad, it's the subbie mafia.

Beyond that, nobody is asking you to comply with anyone, simply to recognize that just as you have issues you won't compromise on, so do we. Because we are people also. We have needs, must haves, deal breakers that all have to be fulfilled in order to be in a mutually satisfying relationship. Or do you really believe, as you seem to say here and in your profile, that it doesn't matter if someone temporarily in a relationship with you is angry and unhappy? I say temporarily because anyone who is that unhappy in a relationship won't stay there long term.

A relationship is a relationship is a relationship. Either both people are happy or it doesn't last.
