Status: offline 		Oh it happens! During the last election, I was with a Dom who had very strong political views one way, and I had strong political views another. We would often talk about our views, but I remember once him almost yelling at me because I wouldn't budge on mine. He ended up letting me go because of that very reason, and a few years later, sent me a few emails apologizing saying he realized that we could both have our own views (and that he should have respected mine) and that he wanted me back. Being two years later... I had moved on. It was a shame. He was my best friend.

I've dated one or two men I could trust to do what they said, and indeed I would expect them to vote similarly to me under the current circumstances.   If I didn't think the country to be in dire trouble, I wouldn't care so much.  All of this is a non issue, because I don't have a slave at present, and if I did, he would not likely be someone on a diametrically opposing side to myself politically.  
...And while that would not be entirely democratic, it is  fair to presume that I don't intend for my home or my property to be under a democratic rule.   M

Status: offline 		She can choose to obey or disobey.  It depends on her priorities.  In other words, she's not voting the way she is just because her dom told her to; she's voting the way she is because she chose to obey her dom.  Since she's neither a marionette nor legal chattel, she does have a choice that she is exercising.

Anyway, people vote for all sorts of stupid reasons.  Voting for someone because it's the person your dom is voting for is by no means the dumbest on the list.

I've actually answered this question a few times already.. and it really is moot since it I doubt it would happen however, I trust Himself with my life, my financial health, my children, my mental health and well-being, my heart and anything else one could think of .. and to suddenly say that I trust you to do what you think is best in all things but I don't trust you enough to spend my vote wisely and well seems counter-productive to the relationship which we've built together.

Status: offline 		Funny, we just had county-election here and i voted the same candidate the Head of our house voted. She did not order me to do so, but She chose wisely. i feel about it the same way BitaTruble does. She makes decisions for our wellbeing and this decision is just one of those. In our city candidates need app. 250 votes to get in. So the one we chose got 2 votes already from this house hold. That's productive. The candidate did not get in, though, but it was a good try. :)

Status: offline 		I don't require my slaves to vote for someone in specific. If I felt like they were using bad judgment or something along that line I would simply provide them with adequate information to make an educated choice.

However... I asked one of my slaves (the only one awake now) how he'd feel if I made him vote for someone.

He said he'd have no qualms at all voting for someone I suggested. He said he trusts my judgment and feels like I would have legitimate reasoning for that request. And he added that he knows I'd provide reasoning and information. But if I refused to give him any reasoning still insisted--- he'd feel off put but still do it because of the nature of our relationship and agreements. But he thinks it would be extremely irresponsible if it were just for "fun" rather than relevant reasons---- but maybe a little fun in a submissive sort of way.

But since I collar people whom I have a great deal of respect for, I doubt any such discrepancy would arise. In any case, even so, the MOST I would do is provide them with more information and then observe what they decide. However I certainly liked hearing he'd do what I requested even if it were a bit loopy. I think the other slave would be more offended and frustrated though.

Status: offline 		I think an intelligent Master/Mistress would not even think about "forcing" their property to vote their choice.  It would be a lot more interesting, actually, to be in disagreement on the subject and kick around the other persons choice, a choice that does not impact their own relationship..or certainly should not.  If political choice was the litmus test for being a slave to a dominant, I would fail.  Their are other reasons, more...errrr, rewarding to a domme than politics in a relationship..."wink". Hey, but I could be wrong...beat me... please.....!!

Status: offline 		Having idiots around me is a hard limit. This house is all about education, being aware of what is going on in the world, and continuing to educate.......in whatever form that takes. Whether it is formal classes or just wiser choices in what's on the television.

There is no way that any slave could live in this house and be politically unaware right now. There is also no way a slave could live in this house and keep their point of view secret, nor escape healthy debates on it.

Just last night we were dicussing my major issue with politics, personal agenda aka the agenda of others that helped a politician get elected, versus my passionate point of view. Serving our country and the people in it. Seems simple enough however, most politicians seem to forget their mission of serving their country and it's people versus personal agendas. Which is why many of the statements I hear politicians make, grates on my nerves so much. Anyway, this is the first year I made a concious effort to make my president/vice president, decision based upon what I thought would best serve the country. Not on personal agenda.

Given that we've worked pretty hard in this household to educate ourselves, and discuss all facets and devoured every bit of information we could find, we feel we've made choices we are more than comfortable with. Any slave that lives here is expected to make an equally informed choice. What that choice is, is her's to make.

My only directive would be to be educated, and decide based on country, not personal agenda.

Another thing I just thought of as I was doing the daily war paint. I would be a fool to think I had not influenced her vote, if indeed she voted the same as I. However, I think that is a huge responsibility on my part, to provide solid information as to why I feel the way I do, AND to push her to look for information and educate herself on the matter. Then, to make her choice based upon that, rather than just trying to please me or do what she thinks I want. As a leader, mistress, dominant......whatever the hell you want to call it........there is responsibility that goes with the fun stuff. This is one issue I want her to be an independent thinking adult, a citizen of the US, not just a slave and yes girl to LeeAnn.

my parents routinely cancelled out eachothers vote.

I would not go for the OP.   Tho- if others do that-it isnt my business.

Status: offline 		Right on. But it made me smile to write "tiny little dick" - and besides, I honestly believe that there's something slightly sad about trying to make your 'slave' vote like you do. And whatever the motive, it's akin to cheating: it was never one man = xnumber of votes, x representing his number of 'slaves'. Know what I mean  ?

And... there's nothing sadder than a 'slave' parroting the political beliefs of their 'owners': if a 'slave' has a mind of its own, it's so much more telling about the good job the 'owner' is doing, don't you think :-) ?

Status: offline 		It would mean that the ethics of the Master is objectionable to the slave. This is why it is extremely important that you get to know the person very well, in any relationship.

My slave does not vote.
