I am sitting here crying as I type. I am just too emotional right now. Senator Obama has just been elected President of the United States.

I am so happy, but sad at the same time. My friend Derek was a supporter of Senator Obama before most people had even heard of him (Derek lived in Illinois). Derek committed suicide several years ago. I keep thinking - why isn't he alive to see this?

MaCain is giving a speach and people are booing our new President... He is trying to stop them... poor losers are not impressive. It is time to do what is best for our country and that kind of stuff is shameful.

I didn't expect to be anywhere near this emotional about him winning. I thought I be happy, proud, relieved, etc. I didn't think I would be crying. I fell hard for him when his speeches made me see the possibility of the return of the America I was proud to be a part of. Tonight I feel like I just watched it be born again... BTW, McCain is doing a great job with his concession speech and deserves the utmost respect for it.

WTF am I missing? Who 'officially' declared the resultss of the race even before all the polls have closed? Man, those electoral college guys are fast, LOL. Now it will begin. Obama won not so much because of his message and his ethnicity, as much because of his incredible organizational ability and his capacity to inspire. He has promised to work with everyone and to be an inclusive President. Now we'll see. If he reaches across the aisle and works with the chastened GOP, and uses the same organizational and inspirational abilities, he could become a great President. Lord knows he's got a full platter of difficulties to deal with. May God be always with you, Barak Obama.

If Obama had kept his promises about campaign funds and not succumbed to the temptation of illegal funding, do you really think he would have won? Obama purchased the votes of the ignorant and by lying about who he is. Now he has to deal with promises he can't possibly deliver on. He has his work cut out for him.

LOL... I didn't get into the pre-election debates around here for a reason... lol... I won't start now. What's done is done. I will be happy for that. My country comes before all else and unless they want to get into some unlawful investigations or something, Obama is President and that is that.

All I can say is I guess if you think that's true that McCain knows how Kerry felt when he was swiftboated by the special interests outfitted with tons of cash...not to mention the voting irregularities in key states. At least this time the voting issues were minor and quickly correctly and the voice of the people was heard.

I am watching Senator McCain give his concession speech. Where was this man over the last 2 years? Things could be very different if McCain could have spoken as well as he just did. Congratulations President-Elect Obama! :) ~Dave
