An American ideal is to fight for change within the democratic republic that we have. I chime in and say "good riddance" if you turn your back on the US just because you panties are in a wad. I said the same thing to those that did not like the Bush policies and threatened to leave, many years ago.

It's a stop-gap.  The point isn't about finding a new home, it's about my refusal to support this soon-to-be present government.

Of course, if you truly read, you'd see this is far more than just someone "getting panties in a wad".  I've lived through my share of administrations I didn't like, but this is different.  This is the first time I've actually become convinced that what a president-elect wants to do will *kill* the country.  My conscience won't let me support that.

Rest assured, you certainly do.  As amazingly misguided as this gent is, at least he's willing to actually do something in support of his beliefs.  Well, at least he says he is.

You, on the other hand, just whine and spout an endless torrent of excuses for why you're not doing anything about your miserable existance.

If you don't like people commenting on the stupid things you say, don't say stupid things in a public forum.  Otherwise, follow the advice you seem so eager to give and ignore me.

question is, who's more stupid, the person making various statements or the person who follows them in order to find fault in everything said?

just a point to ponder.

Who knows ,you might be onto something here.Let me give you some advice, advertise find as many like-minded individuals as you possibly can(start with Joe the Plumber he seems to be a man of principals too)make it like a group exodus.Perhaps you can even get group rates on your travel plans. But the most important thing is hurry, make haste for all you know once the evil Obama takes power he may close all the exits.....now stop reading these post's and start packing.....chop chop, quickly please

Come on Michael...you are assuming Stef has nothing better to do then stalk you. Your assumption is not correct.

perhaps you are both on-line at the same time. perhaps you both have interest in the same threads and topics. perhaps you are taking her posts too personally. perhaps you are a bit paranoid.

You don't honestly think you matter enough to follow around, do you?  That's quite the ego you have there, Mikey.  Coming across your posts in threads is just like coming across dog shit on the sidewalk.  I don't follow dogs around, but I still come across their turds.

Rest assured, the day I feel any desire to "follow" you is the day I'll realize my life sucks more than yours and I'll see what the barrel of Mr. Mossberg tastes like.

michaelOfGeorgia -> RE: Some of you really smart people please explain American democracy to me (11/8/2008 12:15:16 PM)

You don't wanna suck on your shotgun, you'll just have clean it. Can't throw one of those into the dishwasher, yanno.

That's quite an interesting point, Orion, considering the United States was founded by people who chose to leave their homes in order to gain political representation, rather than stay and fight for change. It occurs to me that in this sense at least, the other lad is following a US ideal of sorts.
